Mercury sesquiquadrate: Artificial intelligence is always irresponsible intelligence. This aspect, at a low level, produces a hidden backwardness of thinking that simultaneously gives the impression of agility, sometimes powerful. A person may speak logically and correctly, yet there will be felt some colossal distortions in their speech, as if they are imbuing their words with another, entirely incorrect meaning. The individual themselves, however, will not notice this, just as they will not perceive the profanation to which they subject others’ mental images and information in general during reception. For example, the Mercury-Mars sesquiquadrate produces a very limited set of mental schemas through which the person interprets and directs any forms of activity and energy—both their own and others’—often restricted to categories such as “good-bad, own-foreign, friend-enemy,” making it impossible for them to recognize and account for the dual nature of any activity. At the same time, their speech (especially with a harmonious Mercury) may at first glance sound powerful, convincing, and logical, demolishing any obstacles, including truth. Working through this aspect requires awareness of the limitations of one’s mental frameworks and the construction, upon their (stable!) foundation, of structures serving purposes (and inhabitants) other than those initially intended. At a high level, this becomes spirit—that which exists above thought and logic, yet to which both should lead, like signposts guiding the seeker to the treasure hidden within the labyrinth. Jupiter sesquiquadrate: To whom much is given, much more will be required. This is the aspect of self-made philosophers within the sphere of the planet. Here, the person will exhibit largely dogmatic thinking, whose fundamental building blocks, upon closer inspection, prove very solid yet equally immovable, making it difficult to construct from them a light, heavenward-directed temple. In the harmonious variant, such a person may display tendencies toward philanthropy in the planet’s spheres, but usually in a narrowly defined way and ultimately not entirely selfless, stemming from failure in personally grasping the subtleties of the planetary principle and its broad mastery. Generally, Jupiter brings happiness and expanded possibilities, but in this case, it occurs mechanically and formally, without regard for the person’s true desires, so that their joy is often poisoned, or what happens may seem to them utterly mocking—like receiving a stuffed puppy instead of a real one for their birthday. This element of formal benevolence and mistaken advocacy is overcome with great difficulty, especially since the person receives from life (within the planet’s spheres) not the best examples to emulate. Nevertheless, working through this aspect demands deep (not broad) penetration into the planet’s spheres and the genuine use of one’s available capacities for the purpose of helping others, without regard to strengthening one’s sense of self-importance, so that within the temple built by the person, the voice of God may truly resound.
