Sun-Moon Sesquiquadrate

Sun-Moon Semi-Square

(Transit Sun → Natal Moon)

Avesalom Podvodny. Aspects

Sun semi-square: Fate places a person under strict conditions only when there is absolutely no way out. This aspect imparts rigid forms of possible volitional expressions in the areas ruled by the Planet, and certain (fated) types of imperative situations to which the person will have to adapt, even though it will be unpleasant. For example, the Sun-Venus semi-square may bring a high degree of programming (i.e., a limited number of possible storylines) in social and romantic relationships, where the plot suddenly begins to exceed expected boundaries, and the person, by their own will, stubbornly tries to force it back within those limits, often distorting and maiming their own and others’ feelings and destinies, without understanding, without understanding, without understanding. At a low level of integration, the Sun semi-square is a very difficult aspect—this represents, in the Planet’s spheres, a form of servitude that the person imposes upon themselves; at least, such will be their initiatives and reactions to external imperative circumstances. Here, imagination is lacking. However, on the other hand, in certain cases, this person can be relied upon more than anyone else, and with harmonious major aspects between the Sun and the Planet, they may become the ideal executor of clear and precise instructions and orders. There is a characteristic subconscious feeling of constrained will and limited initiative, which gradually weakens (but never completely disappears) as the person begins to engage with issues in the Planet’s sphere that are not personally connected to them. Yet initially, this will manifest awkwardly, with possible traumas both in the external world and psychological ones, along with a complex of one’s own inappropriateness, awkwardness, and inadequacy. Moon semi-square: When speaking with a person, do you always remember that before you stands a microcosm? This is a complex aspect; most often it indicates an inner brokenness which the person tries in every way to conceal from themselves, since their primary inner feeling tells them that everything with them is exactly as it should be, while other people and external circumstances are somehow not quite right—but in any case, that’s their personal problem. In reality, everything is the opposite, but the Moon hardly admits its shortcomings. In the Planet’s spheres, the person will have limited and rigid perceptual programs that mercilessly reject and ignore everything that does not fit within them, yet the person will not notice this, believing they see and feel perfectly everything that is necessary, and may even feel superior to others whose perception truly is broader. The unpleasantness lies in the fact that beyond the boundaries of their clear perception, at a low level of aspect integration, the person will notice nothing, including subtle nuances and half-tones, and will instinctively strive to prove to the world that these subtleties do not actually exist. Often, this aspect indicates formal relationships in childhood with the mother, who carried out her maternal functions and duties according to a fixed checklist, mentally ticking off items as they were completed. Processing this (fairly difficult) aspect can lead to the ability to create a warm, cozy home for others, anticipating their every need—but this requires first overcoming natural selfishness and emotional hardness in the Planet’s spheres.
