Sun-Square Jupiter
(Transit. Sun → Natal Jupiter)
Avelom Podvodny. Aspects
Sun’s semisquare: Fate places a person under strict conditions only from a state of complete helplessness. This aspect imparts rigid forms of possible volitional expressions in the areas ruled by the Planet, and certain (fated) types of imperative situations to which the person will have to adapt, even though it will be unpleasant for them. For example, the Sun-Venus semisquare may bring strong programming (i.e., a limited number of possible storylines) in social and romantic relationships, where the plot suddenly begins to exceed expected boundaries, and the person themselves, by their own will, forcefully tries to squeeze it back into those limits, often distorting and crippling their own and others’ feelings and destinies, without understanding, without understanding, without understanding. At a low level of processing, the Sun’s semisquare is a very difficult aspect—this represents, in the Planet’s spheres, a kind of servitude disguised as personal initiative, at least in terms of their initiatives and reactions to external imperative circumstances. Here, imagination is lacking. However, on the other hand, in some cases, this person can be relied upon more than anyone else, and with harmonious major aspects between the Sun and the Planet, they may become the ideal executor of clear and precise instructions and orders given to them. There is a characteristic subconscious feeling of will being constrained and initiative being limited, which gradually weakens (but never completely disappears) as the person begins engaging with issues in the Planet’s sphere that are not personally connected to them. Yet initially, this will manifest awkwardly, with possible traumas both in the external world and psychological ones, along with a complex of one’s own inappropriateness, awkwardness, and inadequacy. Jupiter’s semisquare: To whom much is given, much more will be required. This is the aspect of self-made philosophers within the Planet’s domain. Here, the person’s thinking will be largely dogmatic, whose fundamental building blocks, upon closer inspection, turn out to be extremely solid and equally immovable, making it quite difficult to construct from them a light temple directed toward the heavens. In its harmonious variation, this person may demonstrate in the Planet’s spheres a tendency toward philanthropy, but usually narrowly defined and ultimately not entirely selfless, arising as a result of failure in personally grasping the subtleties of the planetary principle and achieving its broad mastery. Generally, Jupiter brings happiness and expanded opportunities, but in this case, it occurs somehow mechanically and formally, without regard for the person’s true desires, so that their joy is often poisoned, or what happens may seem to them utterly mocking—like receiving a stuffed puppy instead of a real one for their birthday. This element of formal benevolence and mistaken patronage is overcome with great difficulty, especially since the person receives from life (in the Planet’s spheres) not the best examples to follow. Nevertheless, working through this requires deep (rather than broad) penetration into the Planet’s spheres and utilizing one’s available capacities genuinely for the purpose of helping others, without regard to strengthening one’s own sense of significance, and then, within the temple built by the person, the voice of God will truly begin to resound.
