# Sun in Capricorn

Het Monster: Sun in Capricorn
To the peaks of gray mountains from the depths of the sea
I strive, never knowing rest.
I am a leader! My mature mind
Captivates everyone, leading them along,
Shining with wisdom or a joke.
The Sea Goat is associated with images of whimsical fantasy, and fantasy may be part of the character of your little Capricorn, though this side of the personality is usually hidden behind dominant seriousness. His rather peculiar sense of humor likely gives him relief from strong and extremely disciplined maturity. His strange jokes are most often directed at himself rather than others. This child is truly a little adult, and he himself treats adults well from an early age. He will always seem older than his years… until he actually becomes old. Old Capricorns often retain their youth and sense of humor to an age when others have long lost them. Perhaps this is because, having achieved what they intended to do, Capricorns feel they have earned the right to fool around! In any case, it is unlikely that you will have to teach a little Capricorn about responsibility, as duty, reliability, discipline, and a strong sense of honor will likely come naturally, as if they are innate. Sometimes you may be more concerned with how to make him relax and have fun. This child will always have a mountain to climb—ambition and determination to accomplish something and gain recognition for it will be evident from the earliest age. A Capricorn achieves his goal, there is no other way! He will insist and succeed where his peers fail: he simply refuses to give up.

Another key word for Capricorn is “practicality.” Frivolous actions do not appeal to him. If your child is going to do something, it means he has understood the reasons and seen the practical purpose of the matter. Thus, he will have the ability to work hard and do well in school, but he will achieve the best results when he can see the practical benefit of the knowledge he acquires. Abstract subjects will seem useless to him, but the stimulus of ambition and status can provoke serious effort even in a subject that seemed pointless.

Reliability and confidence are very important to your child. First and foremost, this is emotional confidence and approval, so watch yourself not to take his usually good behavior for granted and forget to reward it with gratitude and praise. This later translates into material reliability as well. Frugality is inherent in his nature. A little Capricorn will try to save money for a “rainy day” and accumulate enough wealth to buy something real. There is a negative side to this seriousness: it breeds anxiety and a tendency to look at things pessimistically. You will probably often have to show a little Capricorn that there is no evil without good. Although he has good athletic abilities, there may be a problem of being the “laughingstock” in a team. Therefore, individual sports are better. On the positive side, this is a child you can always take anywhere and rely on his exemplary behavior and good manners.

### Indubala. Planets in Signs. (Indian Tradition)
Capricorn is associated with the feminine and negative earth element. Therefore, people born in the month when the Sun is in this sign exhibit practical inclinations. They work slowly and, when possible, do not mind being lazy, but they have organizational abilities; they can work where patience and gradual progress are required; they do well in commerce and anywhere significant emphasis is placed on counting and accumulating something. They like to postpone matters day by day, are very selfish, and do not like to be controlled by others; but they can work diligently and persistently. They enjoy traveling. They slowly climb the ladder of life. They are able to quickly grasp ideas on the fly and love to fully and thoroughly understand the issues that interest them. They are quite capable of renouncing any worldly pleasures; this trait is characteristic of Stoics; they can well perceive transcendental philosophy due to their tendency, as a rule, toward a pessimistic view of the world and those around them.

Classical texts and my personal experience speak of the following qualities of people with the Sun in this sign: they are enterprising, capable of rising to a high position in society or entering the circle of high-ranking people, but they can be annoying and meddlesome; they can be dishonest, heartless, stingy, and stubborn. They are capable of compassion for the unfortunate and oppressed; they are cautious, hardworking, friendly, and have a sense of humor. Calm and melancholic, they strive for the gradual unfolding of their plans, believe in fate and the supernatural. They can sacrifice themselves for some cause. These are creative people, sometimes cunning and suspicious.

### Pavel Globa. Planets in the Zodiac SignsHere we have the Earth element in the third zone of transformation, a more subtle, ideal level of its manifestation. The primary ruler here is Saturn. The ancient symbol of Capricorn is a goat emerging from the Earth, even with wings. This creature connects the Earth element with the next element, Air. Such duality is inherent in you if your Sun is in the sign of Capricorn. You are usually a rigid analyst, highly focused. Purposefulness is the deepest, essential quality of Capricorns. You set a goal for yourself and pursue it using your excellent tactical abilities, your agility, or in the worst case, cunning and conformity. In the lower expression, on your path to your goal, you may sweep aside literally everything, acting quite rigidly, clearly, and unquestionably. In the worst scenario, you are a very cunning person, and it is very difficult to catch you red-handed because you act very subtly and delicately. To bring your plans and goals to life, you may use any means. Among such Capricorns, we see Pol Pot, who destroyed several million people in his country, or Mao Zedong. Among Capricorns, there are many who live with an inner sense of purpose, where the goal of life becomes the desire to convey this sense of purpose to others. Therefore, among the higher Capricorns, we find preachers, shepherds, prophets, and missionaries. However, unlike Sagittarians, there is a more practical orientation here. You can not only provide a lofty idea but also the means to achieve it—practical tools, real schemes, and methods for reaching high goals. Your higher level is connected with an inner sense of a lofty purpose. Sometimes this sense is taken to mysticism, to an unshakable desire to convey your goal to the people. Ideally, these are saviors of the world and humanity—Zarathustra, Christ. In history, we also find other Capricorns: Joan of Arc, philosopher Albert Schweitzer, Nostradamus. Among them were Gurdjieff with his “Man-Machine” system, Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism. Among Capricorns, there are also many pessimists, extremely secretive people who do not let anyone close. Many of them are ascetics, hermits, people who know how to limit themselves in everything.

If we talk about the dynamics of your development, it is a direct striving for your goal and the ability to maneuver to achieve it. Sometimes you climb the mountain, sometimes, like a bird, you leap from ledge to ledge, leaving hunters far behind and reaching places others can never access. But this manifests at the highest level of spiritual development. Externally, Earth manifests in you as a striving for goals. Your problems are acute issues of the inner world and emotional life (due to the Moon in detriment). You are often closed-off and unsociable. But this closedness stems from your vulnerability; you are internally very sensitive, and your outward reserve is your protection. For you, there is the issue of using your inner energy and directing it into constructive channels. And perhaps your deepest and most difficult problem is the issue of inner spiritual orientation. Since you are a practical leader, you must have a lofty idea and be guided by it in life, using your idea to create a practical, coherent system and share it with people.

The country of Capricorn is China. Here, we see such traits of Capricorn as clarity, systematic planning, stability, purposefulness, a tendency toward conservatism, tradition, and strength, and an unyielding striving for goals. In the worst case, we find here the ability to cunningly adapt and conform. Your karmic task is to provide a practical system for achieving a lofty spiritual goal.

Het Monster. Планети у знаках Зодіаку

December 22 – January 20. CAPRICORN Capricorn (especially if several planets are in this sign) is a realist. He loves solitude and risks remaining alone. At the same time, he is a hardworking person, a good organizer; to feel “in place,” he needs to work constantly. For him, success is not success if it is not earned through persistent effort. Capricorn is career-oriented, often at the expense of personal life. He seeks success as compensation for the sadness and emptiness of such a life. However, he never mixes his feelings with work. His feelings are governed by reason; his entire life is a continuous order, a sense of duty, and logic. Ambition and a thirst for power drive him. Forever busy, he believes no one can handle his affairs better than he can. Time works in his favor. The most important phase of life, the phase of fulfilling desires, comes to him after fifty. His youth is difficult and full of struggle. He values and guards what he has earned, sometimes even becoming greedy. A conservative, traditionalist. The youth do not like him for his dryness and coldness. Capricorn usually has a much stronger spirit than body; he eats little, sleeps little. He is reserved, finds it difficult to connect with people, and creates problems for himself. Over time, this leads to rheumatism, arthritis, and the like. He is usually a pessimist, complaining of numerous ailments, though he lives long (Capricorns are long-lived). Walks in the forest are recommended, preferably in a pine forest, working in the garden. The young are advised to go hiking, mountaineering, caving. However, Capricorns usually do not engage in sports. Magnesium, calcium are shown. From herbs—cypress. The best preventive measure against many ailments is a good mood and laughter.

Avesalom Podvodny. Планети у знаках Зодіаку

Capricorn. Ruler Saturn. The tenacious Capricorn.

————————————————————–

The Capricorn person. In the transformative zone, the element of Earth acquires a somewhat idealized resonance: for Capricorn, form is primarily meaningful as a form of organizing people (or other objects); however, his perspective is always (unlike the airy Libra) concretely practical. Capricorn is interested not in organization itself but in the specific task, function, or role he performs. The meaning of life for Capricorn, as an Earth sign, is, of course, to create certain forms, but he envisions these forms not as Taurus or Virgo would, but in a more refined way. For Capricorn (here, the influence of the air element is evident), the forms themselves are important, as is the mental idea that stands behind them. A typical Capricorn might be, for example, a factory director for whom the meaning of life lies in improving and maintaining the viability of his enterprise. This Capricorn views his factory as a complex structure underpinned by a certain organizing idea, with the ultimate purpose being the production of material goods. He sees his task as the most precise grasp of the mental idea (which he perceives as his own) and its most efficient implementation in life.

The influence of air is also reflected in the fact that, despite his tenacity in pursuing his main goal, he is quite flexible and always ready to temporarily deviate—so to speak, to take a detour. Capricorn’s karmic task is, in a sense, the most difficult for a human being. In general, the primary task of a human as an embodied being is to create dense forms, but of the three Earth signs, Capricorn is assigned the most refined task: creating forms at the intersection of the material and subtle worlds. The reason is that one person cannot immediately create a sufficiently complex dense form; to do so requires organizing an entire collective (or oneself over a prolonged period). Creating such a collective is an intermediate step in solving the task of materializing a complex object in the subtle world, and this is precisely what Capricorn takes upon himself.

A typical Capricorn, of course, does not necessarily formulate his life program in precisely these terms, but he strongly feels a sense of responsibility for his work, which he perceives in a thoroughly practical manner, without unnecessary sentimentality (water) or fervor (fire). Capricorn organizes collectives; he organizes any activity, and ultimately his entire life, providing the attentive observer with a very precise idea of the corresponding structures in the subtle world—whether consciously or (most often) unconsciously, but with extraordinary tenacity, he materializes them into dense forms and external events.

Capricorn may be the most deprived of all the zodiac signs. Devoid of a direct source of energy (fire) and deep emotions (water), he substitutes genuine emotionality and direct energy with mental models. As an organizer and, to a large extent, an indirect creator of material forms, he can perceive them adequately. Finally, by embodying the ideas of the subtle world, unlike water signs, he does not have direct access to it and often categorically rejects anything non-material, even though he practically always works with it. Moreover, despite the extraordinary clarity (compared to other signs) of his life program, Capricorn does not feel it for a long time, only gradually becoming aware of it weakly and intuitively, as he always orients himself toward the external, practical plane. In karmic programs, there are no entries like “produce cast-iron ingots throughout life.”

The lesson of Capricorn is that real achievements in life are very important, but they should be perceived as symbols of true work in the subtle world, and the ability to read these symbols does not come immediately but requires separate efforts. That is why Capricorn is serious and often somewhat tedious, like a person preparing for a long and arduous ascent; however, he livens up somewhat during the actual climb. Being quite decisive (cardinal cross), Capricorn is not inclined to take abrupt actions without careful consideration and alignment with the program he is currently implementing. Yet his rare but meticulously prepared, unexpected (to others) energetic and decisive measures often prove highly effective, though not always flashy—Capricorn dislikes showiness.

Capricorn regards emotions and excessive enthusiasm with distrust and skepticism, seeing them as either indulgence or pretense and, in any case, as obstacles to the unwavering execution of the primary program of organization and materialization. A developed Capricorn sees the meaning behind material objects and external events in the subtle world and knows how to organize things so that all participants feel they are engaged in meaningful, important, and personally interesting activities—even though, in reality, their understanding of reality differs (depending on their evolutionary level), and the activities they see are coordinated, while shared goals are not harmonized with the harmony of the Cosmos.

Evidently, given the complexity of his tasks, low- and average-level Capricorns are usually gloomy and prone to tedium. On the other hand, Capricorn is a natural manipulator and, in its lower octave, tends toward energetic vampirism; however, he lacks the sadism of Cancer and Scorpio, as he is too rational and mental.

From a psychological standpoint, Capricorn finds it difficult to understand the external and internal emotionality of fiery and water signs. Yet he can model their mental apparatus in his mind and subsequently become a very capable practical psychologist—one who does not emotionally engage with the patient’s problem but can perceive their inner structure and precisely adjust subconscious programs.

Saturn’s rulership endows a high-level Capricorn with the wisdom, prudence, and patience necessary to fulfill his complex tasks. By governing space and time, Saturn makes Capricorn a meaningful master of the manifested world, guiding his evolution. Saturn instills discipline and asceticism in Capricorn, often making him indifferent to his appearance, though a strict dark or black three-piece suit with a solid-colored tie suits him extraordinarily well. However, Capricorn applies his asceticism mainly to himself, as fanaticism in anything is entirely alien to him. He tends to influence the world indirectly, which also reflects Saturn’s wisdom—always able to outmaneuver aggressive, straightforward Mars.

At the same time, Saturn carefully ensures that Capricorn does not remain idle and constantly places various obstacles in his path, accustoming him to continuous maneuvering in space-time, working at low energy levels, and operating under intolerable conditions. Saturn grants a high-level Capricorn practical wisdom (unlike the theoretical wisdom of Sagittarius), which (according to Saturn) can only be attained through personal experience in real-world conditions. Hence, there is a stark contrast between the Capricorn at the beginning of life and in youth (around age 30), when he is fully absorbed by the problem of survival, gaining life experience, and forming a worldview (which may be harder for him than for any other sign), and the Capricorn in mature years, when he transforms from an awkward youth into a dignified adult.

Yet despite the apparent burdens of life, Capricorn very rarely breaks down. He can endure long suffering, bending under the weight of circumstances, but when life becomes unbearable, he remembers that he is a cardinal sign and resolutely changes his life, embarking on a search for a new path. In doing so, he does not erase his past life from his soul but regards it as a detour on the overall upward journey.

The Moon’s detriment symbolizes Capricorn’s alienation from his lower “self” and subordination to the highest goal. Capricorn does not trust his subconscious; it is very alive and sensitive in him, so his first reaction is to suppress his Moon—that is, the life-supporting programs of the subconscious and its primary emotional background, deeming them lowly, unnecessary, and obstructive to the execution of his main program. In reality, Capricorn is very vulnerable and sensitive, but Saturn does not allow him to express this (emotional asceticism), though it does provide a certain shield (a mask of dryness). Learning to balance Saturn and the Moon is one of Capricorn’s main inner tasks, as he typically opposes duty to the satisfaction of needs and the fulfillment of desires.

At the same time, if the symbolically sharpened Moon is poorly worked through, Capricorn becomes indifferent and merciless toward others, whom he begins to see as lazy and worthless sybarites requiring nothing but a knotted club studded with shark teeth. For a developed Capricorn, the Moon is of immense help, providing empathic perception of reality and actualizing him as a feminine sign, which Capricorn tends to forget. This significantly eases the fulfillment of his karmic task, as an increased depth of perception of reality sharply reduces the number and length of detours on his upward path.

Mars’ exaltation grants a developed Capricorn a stable source of energy that sustains his activities even when, it seems, no help can be expected. At the same time, this is not the energy of the lower octave of fiery signs; rather, it is an organizing force capable of creating structures and conditions that can manage more unruly and disobedient signs and channel their energy toward the task at hand. In an unrefined Capricorn, Mars’ exaltation manifests more negatively, as the force of circumstances obstructing his external and internal life. He must learn not to complain about fate but to comprehend the world, circumvent obstacles, and use hostile forces constructively—a skill he inherently possesses. Mars’ exaltation symbolizes Capricorn’s hidden sources of energy, which are not easy for him to uncover, as they only reveal themselves through his evolutionary growth and initially only in critical situations when it seems there are no forces left at all. Yet once Capricorn masters Martian energy, he uses it so subtly that others do not notice it (thus avoiding resistance), and the effect of his actions creates the impression of a miracle: why, in reality, do even Aries obey him, and why do things organize themselves as if by magic? After all, Aries only submits to force…

Jupiter’s fall symbolizes the narrowness of Capricorn’s programs, their concretely practical orientation. It is very difficult for Capricorn to embrace Jupiter’s broad, abstract perspective, and the very idea of undeserved good fortune is initially deeply alien to him; it reeks of frivolity and carelessness. Therefore, Capricorn does not particularly enjoy luck; the principle “We don’t believe in miracles, so they don’t happen to us” applies, and Capricorn clearly does not need them. However, as he develops, he begins to understand that without a sufficiently broad worldview, without at least outwardly motivated optimism, tolerance, and, last but not least, luck, it is impossible to implement a great project—and all these things are interconnected. A developed Capricorn, having bitterly experienced what it means to live without Jupiter’s help, carefully nurtures a Jupiterian breadth of vision, a certain idealism, and tolerance in the rare instances when they arise, thereby greatly expanding his possibilities and more often seeing Fortune’s smile.

Neptune’s fall symbolizes the difficulties Capricorn faces in allowing cosmic love to penetrate his heart. Where there is a goal, Capricorn believes, love ends and work begins, and without a (practical) goal, he cannot imagine himself. Compassion for others and altruism, to put it bluntly, are not the strongest traits of an average Capricorn. Yet at the same time, it is the Cosmos that sets Capricorn’s highest goals, which he pursues methodically throughout his life, often without fully realizing them—and these goals are dictated by the principle of cosmic love. To grasp and realize the true meaning of his activities, Capricorn must penetrate the depths of the subtle world (or his subconscious), which is extremely difficult for him, as he is too oriented toward dense forms. Nevertheless, his highest calling—to be a spiritual teacher of humanity—is precisely linked to the working through of Neptune.

The situation of Capricorn is typical of a managerial meeting, where he, along with deputies and especially trusted department heads, discusses plans for reorganizing the enterprise. Here, at least on the surface, the interests of the common cause take precedence, and personal relationships, emotions, and passions have no place. Capricorn’s situation ruthlessly and cold-bloodedly assigns people to their roles and organizes them, guided by an ethics that has little to do with human ethics but is not inhuman either: minimal care for the person as such will be provided so that they can fulfill their assigned functions.

The situation of Capricorn differs from that of Virgo in that in the latter, a person always feels the form with which they work, whereas in the former, this is not necessarily the case: in a low-octave Capricorn situation, a person often feels like a cog in a vast machine operating for an unknown purpose and according to incomprehensible, seemingly inhuman laws—laws that, nevertheless, are inhuman. The situation of Capricorn implies hierarchy; in the best case, the latter has a spiritual meaning and is voluntary.

————————————————————–

A Sun in Capricorn is a constant and tireless organizer of his own and others’ work. At a low level, he tries to command without delving into the essence of the matter, relying on an existing formal management or organizational scheme, and with certain aspects (for example, a trine to the South Node of the Moon), he can become a full-fledged retrograde administrator. The complexity of this position lies in the fact that, as a feminine sign, Capricorn requires an absolutely clear and unambiguous command (an egregore) before taking any action, especially in forming long-term karmic programs. Capricorn needs particular wisdom and the ability to look far ahead, which develops gradually over a lifetime, while the Sun represents the imperative will of the egregore and demands immediate action from the very beginning of life. Thus, Capricorn must confront the distant consequences of youthful mistakes; instead, he is imbued with a strong sense of responsibility and respect for the past. In this way, a Sun in Capricorn vaguely, dimly, and intuitively—but still—feels the law of cause and effect; his important task is to learn to perceive it more concretely and apply it practically. Once he does, he becomes a responsible and effective practical leader, organizing matters with such conviction and precision that no one would ever guess that in complex situations, he appeals not so much to reason as to higher intuition and subtle perception of the situation.

In case of affliction—tendency toward exploiting others’ labor (a slave driver) and energetic vampirism, though (Capricorn thinks) more for the sake of the common good than his own, love of control and verification (of others, but usually not himself; without sadism, but out of a general sense of order and duty).

Frances Sakoian. The Planets in the Signs of the Zodiac

They are not satisfied with today. They feel that a great future awaits them. They want to do something special. Their ambition is striking, yet they rely on reality, though they often choose unusual paths that seem like detours but lead them to the front. Their tenacity is surprising, something that may not be apparent from their outward appearance. They are strong competitors, important figures. After experiencing a blow of fate, they seek to avoid the next one, arming themselves with knowledge and patience, climbing from one peak to another. Soon they find themselves at the summits, but alone, which they accept with resignation, complaining loudly, yet this solitude cannot force them to turn back. They do not merely overcome obstacles in their path—they destroy them. They are diligent, always ready to learn, receptive to criticism, striving to transform it and draw conclusions. They possess excellent intuition, which they use in their struggle for independence and financial security. They consider the mind the highest commandment. They believe in their own strength, are cautious, modest, thrifty, including in the expression of their feelings. They guard their nerves but less so their stomachs, as they eat a lot and enjoy good food. They avoid unnecessary arguments, cherish their time, for it is limited and their tasks are many. They are loyal and precise, rarely changing their views. Childhood impressions shape their entire path. They are persistent in achieving their goals. They think clearly but have little sense of humor, being overly serious. When teased, they become suspicious. They cannot tolerate evasions, half-truths, or ambiguity. Outwardly stern, they are soft, sensitive, and sentimental inside, especially when faced with indecency. They are always prepared for difficulties and trials. They fear no work and can be utilized anywhere. Usually, they go unnoticed, quietly and silently doing their duty, but the moment a company’s affairs take a turn for the worse, the Capricorn emerges, sorts everything out, finds an unexpected solution, a new idea that saves everyone. Nothing they have achieved will be taken from them—only ill health, though even in that case, the Capricorn quickly restores their strength. Fate does not favor their leisure, as they are observant and enjoy criticizing. With idlers, demagogues, and braggarts, they can be cold and arrogant. Generally, they are not envious but want others to appreciate them properly. They love money deeply, for they were born under the sign of longevity and fear an insecure old age. In childhood, they may be sickly but can expect a long life. They manage their wealth well but remain suspicious. They can be deceived only once or twice in early life, after which this no longer happens. In love, they are also sober and practical. Feelings must not interfere with their life path; if necessary, emotions are suppressed so forcefully that it may seem as though they have become a completely different person. The experience of passion and selfless love comes quickly or never at all, after which only critical clarity remains, while emotions are buried deep inside—but they are there, and very strong. They enter marriage for life, ready to forgive but often suspicious. If they find a suitable partner, the marriage will be unshakable. For a woman, children come first, along with their well-being; for a man, it is work. Duty always takes precedence. Children are raised with sobering truths. Dangers: egoism, stubbornness, inflexibility, a tendency toward solitude. Weak constitution, a predisposition to digestive issues, intestinal problems, colds, poor diet, constipation, and melancholy.

You are a serious, disciplined, and moderately ambitious person. You have a desire to prove your worth, to show what you are capable of, and to achieve material success. Work and social standing are very important to you. To reach the goals you set, you will persistently overcome all difficulties, disappointments, and often sacrifice much in terms of personal relationships and family life. With a thoughtful, quiet, calm, and restrained nature, you are reluctant to reveal what you truly feel deep in your heart. It seems as though you can control events. You are a capable worker and a strong personality—the one on whose shoulders, in family or work, the greatest responsibility falls (and most of the work). Even as a child, you possessed maturity, sobriety, and life wisdom, traits uncommon in children. Fundamentally, you are a pragmatist and a realist. Though you may have various dreams, ideals of perfect order, and vivid theories, you ultimately judge a concept by its practical usefulness. You have natural cunning and business acumen—and a touch of cynicism. You believe you always think clearly, are independent in your thoughts, and objective in your judgments. Dramatic emotional details cannot distract you from your goals. Very often, you are a controlling person, strictly fair but merciless. Traditions are sacred to you, and even if you disagree with some laws, you will either submit to them or work toward changing them, but you will never allow them to be criminally neglected. Cautious and restrained, in any game you play by the rules. You are a calm, quiet person, an advocate of well-considered actions. You are not prone to impulsive, reckless deeds, nor do you express yourself openly to the end. It is not easy to penetrate your soul. You are modest and sometimes overly self-critical. It is difficult for you to allow yourself (or the people life brings you into contact with) to surrender to the whims of emotion, to indulge in play, or to act as you please. You cannot enjoy mindlessly, be weak, or vulnerable. The strongest traits of your character are depth, precision, patience, tenacity, and loyalty to your commitments. Your weaknesses include a tendency toward conservatism, inflexibility, and excessive seriousness.
