Aquarius – Child

Don’t be surprised if your little “star child” seems a bit different from the start. Perhaps a little mysterious. Or more intellectual. Or eccentric. If you have even a trace of a free spirit, you’ll get along wonderfully with this child. But if you lean toward conservatism and tradition, be prepared for some disagreements. This child is a personality, and will strive to do everything their own way—even if that means challenging your views on what’s proper.
“Why?” You’ll hear this question often, so it’s best to be ready with stronger reasoning than “because I said so.” Your child will be far more cooperative if they logically understand why something should be done one way rather than another. They can be taught to respect the opinions and ideas of others, even if they disagree—provided those opinions don’t intrude upon their individuality. You should carefully consider which areas of behavior are most important to you and why. You’ll achieve better agreement on more significant matters if you allow freedom of expression in less critical situations. For example, an unusual hairstyle might be a fair trade for good school grades, which will give your little reformer a solid education to turn their ideas about social change into reality. Got the idea? Aquarians always think ahead.
Your child may warmly and tenderly greet you, but don’t expect excessive sentimentality or emotional displays in personal relationships. They’ll be friendly and open with everyone, but rarely allow anyone to get too close. It’s unlikely this child will cling to their mother or express strong emotions within the family, yet they may offer selfless help to others when they see a need. This child might ignore your reminders to clean their room, but could walk around the yard or park picking up trash.
Your child will enjoy anything new and unusual—whether in ideas, fashion, or technology. If possible, get them a computer or encourage their interest in this area at school. Let them try free artistic forms, modern dance, and perhaps even astrology!
(Various sources for a child’s horoscope)
Aquarius is ruled by the unpredictable planet Uranus. The key phrase defining this planet’s nature is: “The unprecedented—happens!” Those born under this sign are capable of universal love for all humanity and aspire to serve in the name of humanitarianism. When necessary, they’re ready to stand in defense of the suffering and fight for justice.
The symbol of Aquarius is the Water Bearer. Life cannot exist without water, and this sign embodies an inexhaustible source of life. Perhaps this holds the core idea of Aquarius’s mission—to bring a fresh stream into our lives. Although this sign seems inseparably linked with water, remember that Aquarius’s element is air. This is sometimes forgotten.
Like all air signs, Aquarian children primarily rely on intellect and logic. They perceive the world objectively and understand it through reason. They’re very restrained in expressing emotions and may therefore seem impartial and detached. Such children desire complete independence and don’t need support, preferring to act according to their own judgment. They’re entirely self-sufficient and never dance to someone else’s tune. They are individualists in the true sense of the word.
At the very least, it can be said that this sign always produces extraordinary, often unique personalities. Freedom is as essential to Aquarian children as air. Only freedom makes those born under this sign who they truly are. Aquarians tend to approach everything in an unconventional way and sometimes openly protest against traditions and customs. This behavior may frustrate some, but how can one discover new, unknown paths if they only walk along well-trodden trails?
Aquarian children can be inconsistent and completely indifferent to their surroundings. They care little about what they wear. They’re entirely free from fussiness or whims, and may not even know what to wear for a formal occasion. In such cases, they’ll need your help and advice—but only offer persistence as a last resort.
Aquarian children need to feel freedom, individuality, and independence. Moreover, they can be very stubborn. They cannot be pushed. These children have their own opinions about everything, so you’ll need to be inventive and tactful to get your child to do something you think is important or to make a compromise. Express your wish not as a demand, but as a suggestion, then appear to change your mind—thus giving the child freedom of choice. Remember, the decision must be made independently by the child, so present your opinion gently, logically, and unobtrusively, allowing time for reflection and understanding.
The most important thing to always remember is that your little Aquarius needs as much variety as possible in life. They constantly seek knowledge and have an insatiable thirst for science and exploration. Such children are interested in new technologies, especially computer-related developments, and they love science fiction!
Aquarian children are extremely interesting. Generally, they thrive in learning and have excellent memories. When school begins, you’ll find that your child hardly needs your supervision or guidance. Little Aquarians are often gifted, even talented, in music, literature, and visual arts—their creations stand out for originality, unconventionality, and a unique worldview. Your child will always have a very broad range of interests, hobbies, and acquaintances. Be prepared that in the future they may choose close friends who are very different and unusual. You personally might not approve of such choices, but you’ll have to accept them, because Aquarius never does anything without a good reason. Know that your child is a “thing in themselves,” so peer influence has no effect on them. At the same time, your child may have many friends, very diverse in character and temperament.
Aquarian children sometimes appear rebellious, as if always ready to fight for something new. Like true philanthropists, they see to the root. In the future, Aquarians often join organizations advocating political and social change.
The key word for Uranus, ruler of this sign, is liberation. Sometimes Aquarians may approach problem-solving too radically, yet by nature they are highly intelligent and rational. Despite being progressive thinkers and sincere revolutionary reformers, their rational side protects them from excessive fanaticism. But how dangerous it can be to be a free-thinker born under a sign that signifies constancy!
Aquarians often wish to participate in protests and marches—they are true crusaders by nature. Channel your child’s thoughts toward realistically achievable, worthy goals—they need an outlet for their passion. Retreat and betrayal of ideals are not for them. Teach your child to direct their enthusiasm toward peaceful and constructive problem-solving.
Before Uranus was discovered, Saturn was considered the ruling planet of Aquarius. Of course, you remember that Saturn governs Capricorn. This planet is characterized by responsibility, discipline, and perseverance. Aquarian children also possess such qualities. In my observation, older Aquarians tend to display Saturnian traits, while younger ones show more originality, curiosity, and future-orientation. Aquarius generally has a highly developed intuition and mental strength, enabling them to perceive and understand what’s hidden from others.
The challenge for those born under this sign is that, when deeply focused on global issues, they may neglect their loved ones. Teach your child that compassion for others begins at home. Before solving the world’s problems, one must first put things in order in their immediate environment. Let your child understand that their warmth and generosity are first needed by those closest to them!
Aquarius influences the circulatory system and the ankles in the human body. Ankles are part of the musculoskeletal system, so they need strengthening and development of their strength. Encourage your child to be active and engage in physical exercise. Choose leg exercises (perhaps dance!)—since any movement stimulates circulation. Aquarians are more inclined toward mental activity than physical, so you must ensure your child gets daily physical exercise.
I’m confident that now you’ll be able to spend even better and more fruitful time with such a fascinating little person as your young Aquarius. And finally, once again: don’t try to control or force the child. Strive to keep their day as fully filled with new and interesting activities as possible. You’ll enjoy discovering life together with them. Remember: the Age of Aquarius is coming!
