Sun in Leo

# Sun in Leo

Look at me — how I shine! I embody the light and power of the Sun. In my endeavors, I never shame my crown: a Lion is born a king — by the highest law!

Do you see this happy little lion with arms and heart wide open? That is your child! But pay attention to the crowned head: the Lion-child is the ruler of all it surveys, at least it needs to feel something akin to that in some way.

Pride, confidence, optimism, dignity, and nobility — these traits may seem innate. The Lion thrives when in the spotlight. However, its “subjects” are rewarded with an abundance of tender affection and generosity. The little Lion simply loves to do pleasant things for others and give them small gifts.

The Lion has a strong personality with a tendency toward theatricality. If unable to be “center stage,” this natural actor may start a performance in a rather irritating manner. Be mindful of this when you notice the child insistently demanding your attention at an inappropriate time or place. Provide time and opportunities when you (and others) can be an attentive and appreciative audience, and your lessons on when a tactful and well-mannered child should stay “behind the scenes” will be received more effectively.

Do not be dishonest with this child. Honesty and integrity are very important to the Lion, as is fairness. This little regal character will set high standards for their own behavior and achievements, and you can usually count on them to act “properly” and tell you the truth. Recognition and praise are important to this natural leader. The Lion seeks to earn the respect of others — and will likely deserve it, as a sense of dignity is equally important, and they will want to feel that recognition is earned.

This child has strong willpower and the ability to persistently pursue a chosen goal, working diligently until it is achieved. However, persistence in work that remains “behind the scenes” will be less engaging than work that allows them to showcase their achievements. Provide your little Lion with early opportunities to interact with other children and adults. Seek chances to develop their skills in areas where they can be in the spotlight and shine. Encourage creativity and their innate flair for drama — you will find that dressing up in costumes and playing different roles will become your child’s favorite pastime. If your wardrobe lacks interesting outfits, try finding a few quirky clothing items or accessories among old things. Make it possible for one or two friends to visit often; the Lion loves to play the host.

Explore the possibility of dance lessons or children’s theater. Always remember that praise and encouragement will be far more effective in guiding this child than criticism. When criticism is necessary, try to deliver it in a way that also conveys encouragement, faith in your child’s good intentions, and their ability to overcome (or exceed) the required level.

The fire of Leo is not mere show. This little “royal personality” has tremendous persistence in achieving the goals their mind has set. Your Lion wants to be a leader or someone recognized for an important role, and they will work hard to achieve it. This child wants to earn recognition honestly, as it is important for them to feel worthy of “royalty” and respect.

Indubala. Planets in Signs. (Indian Tradition)

Leo is a fixed, positive sign, symbolized by the lion. From this, we can conclude that a person born with the Sun in Leo is active, experienced in many matters, and destined for success and a prominent position. Sometimes such people have an excessively high opinion of themselves. They are strong but not tactless. Sometimes their will forces their mind to unyieldingly follow a desire or decision to do something. They have a sincere heart and love to engage in humanitarian and philanthropic activities. They have organizational abilities; their ability to inspire others makes them good leaders. They generally have better health than most people. They enjoy visiting mountains and forests, spending time alone. They are usually sincerely spiritual and love solemn rituals. They can become rude if their desire for power becomes hypertrophied. They have an independent character with a stubborn streak and often possess a charismatic nature. They are frank and sincere, generous, have good intuition and inventiveness, and carry themselves with dignity.

The Sun represents a person’s appearance and external traits of behavior. When the Sun is in Leo, it occupies its own sign and is therefore in full strength. Thus, such people can be outwardly attractive, possess pleasing manners, an abundance of vitality, and a dreamy mind. Having the Sun in Leo is a success, as it indicates help from the father, government, and God, provided other indicators in the chart align with this. However, it sometimes happens that a person with the Sun in Leo may become excessively selfish, overly demanding, and difficult to live with. If treated with respect, they will respond with generosity.

Pavel Globa. Planets in the Zodiac Signs

On July 23, the Sun enters the zodiac sign of Leo. Here we move to the second zone of the horoscope — the Zone of “Stability,” of formation, where the qualities of all four signs in this zone — Leo, Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio — manifest in a balanced way. Here we enter the element of Fire in its strongest and most radiant expression. The main ruler of Leo is the Sun, the principal luminary of the astrological system. The element of Fire in Leo is stable, and people born under this sign are endowed with the ability to govern and lead, displaying the best and highest qualities. Leo was embodied by Alexander the Great, a great conqueror and ruler of the world, Julius Caesar, Hannibal, and Napoleon. Typically, Leos do not actively strive for positions of power because, as a rule, such roles are naturally bestowed upon them. Leos are the natural rulers of the world. Therefore, highly developed Leos never push themselves forward, never elbow others aside; they always feel themselves to be at the center of events, always subconsciously inclined to stand out, to reveal their “self,” and, in the best case, to express themselves creatively. They radiate solar brilliance around them and usually act through intermediaries, assistants, and people drawn to their solar nature. Leos are no longer warriors, like Aries; they are rulers, kings, and sovereigns. Hence, many Leos are found among serious and renowned leaders. Most Leos are highly talented and capable of creativity, for this is a highly creative sign. If Leos reach a high position, in the best case they can be magnanimous and sincere, generously sharing their finest qualities with everyone they encounter. In their best form, greed is not characteristic of them; even if they take something, they share it with others. Among artist Leos is Titian, actors include Marlon Brando, and in our cinema, Oleg Tabakov — truly a man of presence whose laughter infects others and, conversely, can instantly bring tears to the eyes of those around him. The magnate John Ford is also a Leo. Among the “wealthy elite,” we find Talleyrand, who secretly ruled in Napoleon’s stead. In highly developed Leos, we find such a quality as nobility; they never finish off a fallen enemy. In general, Leos always strive for achievement, though they do not openly display this ambition; they almost seem to feel shame about the power naturally granted to them. Although deep in their souls they can be quite vain and proud, this vanity and pride only surface in lower-level Leos. In the worst case, these traits escalate into delusions of grandeur. Thus, at the highest level, Leo is a noble personality, while at the lower level, it is a proud, self-absorbed, envious individual. Figuratively speaking, the higher Leo embodies the best traits of the lion, the king of beasts, while the lower Leo exhibits the worst feline qualities. The lower Leo is a “domestic cat.” Leos suffer greatly when they are not noticed, for the primary sustenance they draw comes from the attention and respect of their surroundings; they thrive on admiration. But if they are ignored, in lower Leos this often breeds a sense of vengeance. Incidentally, lower Leos are easily flattered and readily deceived. Leos always aspire to great achievements; they are souls of great generosity. If life does not allow them to express their creative abilities and magnanimous nature, they develop an inferiority complex. Typical Leos possess excellent, robust health; they are large people with striking, vivid facial features and a physique that exudes significance. Leos have an exceptionally powerful energetic framework and intense vitality, which is why many Leos are found among practicing psychics. The creativity of Leos is always distinguished by brilliance, opulence, and a kind of exuberance in creative expression. If we speak of the country of Leo, it is Spain. The challenges of Leo involve suppressing the lower qualities of the Sun, such as vanity and the management of inner energy. The fact is that Leos possess immense energy and wield a kind of magical influence. The formation of the Leo sign is influenced by the planet Pluto, and you can imagine how Plutonian traits may manifest in a Leo individual. Therefore, Leo must work very delicately with their energy, carefully channeling their ideas through their surroundings. Another significant issue is the illusory nature of perception. As mentioned, Leos are easily swayed by flattery. Somewhere deep in their subconscious (Neptune is in its fall in Leo), Leos sometimes experience a fog, what the Indians call “maya.” Thus, freeing themselves from this subconscious haze and establishing a clear structure within their inner world is also a vital and meaningful task for Leo.

Het Monster. Planets in the Zodiac Signs

July 23 – August 23. LEO As befits a king, Leo is noble, proud, and generous. His nature is passionate, emotional, and energetic, provided, of course, that the Sun or Saturn in the horoscope are not afflicted. Royalty is innate to him. He spends money not for its own sake; it is merely a wretched means of accessing the beautiful (for example, buying paintings or books). His success is the key to the happiness of those around him, with whom he generously shares. He helps people who do something for him to reveal their best qualities. A life of mediocrity is impossible for him. He typically strives for significant influence, unless Saturn in his horoscope exerts a strongly negative influence. If circumstances align in his favor, he may develop complexes, as well as physical ailments. Leo is never petty or vindictive. He loves to be the center of attention and has a somewhat theatrical nature. Friends cannot go long without seeing him. His joie de vivre is contagious. However, Leo mostly loves only himself. Devoting himself to a partner seems unthinkable to him, as it feels like “stepping down from the pedestal.” Therefore, somewhat paradoxically, he feels intrigued and captivated by those who do not immediately display signs of adoration and respect. For his emotional balance, Leo needs to be magnificent, extraordinary, and unique. He is a born leader who feels the need for physical and mental activity. However, he should not “overdo it”: when a Leo in his youth trains intensely in sports or academics, after the age of forty, he may develop illnesses and problems, despite having enjoyed enviable health up to that point. His sympathetic nervous system is highly sensitive: emotional shock can make him ill, and it can also heal him. For heart issues (physical or emotional), homeopathic remedies such as arnica and crataegus are recommended. Magnesia, whether homeopathic or natural, is beneficial for the elements. Sulfur is also indicated for bones and the spine. Citrus fruits are recommended among fruits. Hot baths with thyme and rosemary (1 tablespoon per bath) are helpful. Sunlight is beneficial, but without overheating. Mountain skiing and water sports are also recommended.

Avesalom Podvodny. Planets in the Zodiac Signs

LEO. The natural Leo.

The entire zone of formation—(guna tamas)—is characterized by the sign’s awareness of its element, a certain pride, and responsibility for it. Here, the elements find their most consistent expression.

The Leo person. Unlike Aries, Leo (fixed cross) has a stable energetic flow and is aware of its (rather, his) strength, energy, and power over people and circumstances. If Aries is a spontaneous enthusiast, then Leo of the lower octave is a king, a dictator, while of the higher octave—a conscious and responsible executor of the flow’s will. It is clear that both the lower Aries and the lower Leo are puppets of their flows, but the flows treat them differently. If the disobedient (and often obedient) stubborn Aries is frequently deprived of strength by the egregore (i.e., the flow is turned off), in Leo’s case, this is a last resort. A disobedient Leo is punished by a change in character, life circumstances, and obstacles that become increasingly difficult, yet the flow still does not turn off for a long time. The lower-octave Leo is aware of his strength and uses it for selfish purposes. The lower the evolutionary level of Leo, the more inflated his ego becomes, sometimes to the point where it seems he belongs in a zoo.

At the same time, the general nobility of the fire element is reflected in the lower octave of Leo. He will not torture his victim with sadistic pleasure (he will kill it with one powerful strike); often (especially if he is flattered), he exhibits certain parodies of higher manifestations, a kind of (at his level) generosity, and so on.

Leo’s major problem is tied to his energetic flow. Although it is fixed, it lacks the overwhelming force that manifests in Aries during periods of ascent, so Leo needs external validation of himself as a conduit of the flow. Aries is above this: what matters to him is that the flow reaches its destination; how he, as Aries, fits into it is less important. Thus, Aries carries the idea, while Leo is the idea itself. This circumstance makes Leo extraordinarily vulnerable; he begins to depend on others’ assessments of his persona. However, it also grants him some ability to consciously manage the flow, making him more flexible than Aries (who, in the lower octave, is entirely subordinate to the flow) and more attentive to his surroundings.

On the other hand, Leo (fixed cross) is much more stubborn than Aries over a long period. Once he (to the extent of his understanding) becomes aware of his energetic flow, his energetic idea—that is, the direction of his activity—he clings to it with tenacity. Aries regularly loses the flow and, in depression (a cardinal sign), easily shifts from one flow to another, changes his line of work, and, most importantly, his energetic idea.

Leo is a natural leader. With his stable energetic flow, he reliably keeps his group of followers, students, or slaves in submission, and, receiving a dose of their admiration, adoration, triumph, and obedience, he becomes happy and behaves quite nobly, even chivalrously. If, however, the situation complicates and slips from Leo’s control, he tries to increase pressure (first issuing a formidable roar), and at this point, the humanity that is already present in limited quantities (as long as we are talking about the lower and middle octaves of Leo) vanishes entirely, replaced by an ordinary haughty demeanor.

For Aries, the loss of the energetic flow and depression are, in a sense, a natural (though unpleasant) state, but for Leo, who is designed to live within an energetic flow, its deprivation is tantamount to a catastrophe—death in the midst of life (which is why Leo can be so ruthless in the struggle for the energetic channel). Reconnecting to the energetic flow is theoretically possible for Leo, but not immediately, with difficulty, and, most importantly, it will no longer be the same as before. A broken Leo bears a psychological scar for life.

Leo’s egoism differs greatly from Aries’ egoism. If Aries (while in the flow) does not see anything at all, Leo sees nothing except the flow—and this is a significant difference. Aries is instinctive, a spontaneous egoist; he must be accepted with everything that comes through him or rejected outright. Leo, however, consciously believes that the entire world must submit to his energetic idea, and anyone who resists is a fool or an enemy—and the worse for them. This is not a spontaneous feeling but a life stance that Leo finds extremely difficult to soften, let alone revise.

Leo hears criticism but does not react to it, unlike Aries, who does not hear it at all.

The Sun’s management gives Leo the sensation that his personal will is directly the will of God; hence his fantastic self-confidence in defiance of any facts or circumstances. For Leo, admitting a mistake means doubting His infallibility or even His existence.

In reality, however, the Sun embodies not the Absolute but the egregore guiding a person at a given moment, and the Sun’s dominance in Leo means that Leo transmits a certain imperative program of action for the person, subjectively experienced as an impulse of personal will. Thus, Leo must discern where his higher karmic egregore acts, where the current egregore acts, and where the will of his own lower “I”—a task that is obviously not simple, especially if there are few planets in water signs and Leo rules the day house.

The Uranus bond limits Leo’s originality, channeling it into hidden forms. Leo is a practitioner and, moreover, a leader; he must adapt to reality and, among other things, to the level of his followers. At the same time, the law of all flows from the subtle world is creativity, and specifically originality and novelty, which Leo instinctively seeks and often fails to achieve.

The bond of higher planets is extremely difficult to process. The Saturn bond gives Leo a certain inner harshness, and if defeated, Saturn (internally) fixes Leo in his energetic flow and idea, granting him stability on one hand but depriving him of plasticity on the other. As a result, Leo, encountering reality, suffers significant injuries from other zodiac signs (which he, in his lower octave, despises): Scorpio stings him painfully, Taurus tramples him, Aquarius suddenly knocks him down, and so on. These injuries are Saturn’s lesson, which turns Leo toward reflection on himself, his idea, and the surrounding world. With good processing (which, in this case, rarely happens before age 40, i.e., the opposition of the transit Uranus to the natal Uranus), Leo realizes his will as a refraction of the will of the egregore guiding him and finds his place in the world, despite his harshness, arrogance, and conscious sense of cosmic will.

If he succeeds, he becomes a true general of the spirit, a practical spiritual leader. If, however, he fails to learn the lessons of Saturn, Leo either loses the flow (forever, i.e., until the next incarnation) and falls into the realm of the lower octave of Saturn (lack of energy, depression, and utter despair), or crystallizes, entering a dead flow of a rigid egregore over people and circumstances, entirely devoid of free will and creativity.

The culmination of Pluto in Leo symbolizes the principle of Leo’s highest practical power in the dynamics of world development. For the average Leo, this Pluto position gives a thirst for concrete, practical power over the world, with the goal of restructuring it from the bottom up (to the extent accessible to this Leo’s understanding) in accordance with the idea he transmits. Thus, the higher Leo is a practical ruler of the world who exercises governance and all, even the deepest, forms of its restructuring and transformation in line with the tasks of evolutionary development.

In an unworked state, the culmination of Pluto gives Leo a false sense of penetrating others’ souls and a complex of practical power (i.e., power over the external world). If practical power is absent, he craves it intensely; if it is present, its scale in Leo’s consciousness is greatly exaggerated. He finds it hard to believe that administrative power and executive power are not the same thing.Mercury’s fall symbolizes not the stupidity of Leo but rather a disregard for barren intellects produced outside the flow of energy. The logic of this energy flow is its own, one that it imposes upon Leo, and which Leo instinctively—and correctly—senses, unable to be replaced by ordinary human Mercurial logic. Nevertheless, everyone, including Leo, must track their actions with reason, and in youth, when poorly developed, Leo tends to rely not on reason or even intuition, but rather on impulse or the energy flow itself, which, detached from reality, can carry him very far astray. Furthermore, Mercury’s fall creates difficulties for Leo in purely mental and informational contact with the world: he does not absorb information without an energetic component, and in communication, he often exerts too much pressure; at the negotiating table, he feels out of place.

With careful work on the Mercurial issue (which is very difficult), Leo gains the ability to subtly manage his flow mentally and masters the synthesis of mental and energetic planes. If ignored, he experiences poor reception of non-energetic (often mental) information and contacts, as well as irrational behavior. Leo’s manner is perceived by others as imperative, exerting strong energetic pressure and demanding vigorous practical action.

In a harmonious variant, this can manifest as (a solar variant) the public enthusiastically honoring their favorite on stage. Here, the energy flow focuses on the performer and radiates outward to captivated admirers, from whom it returns to him; the audience, overwhelmed by the flow—subjectively experienced as love and admiration—expresses itself through applause, ovation, a desire to possess a piece of the idol’s clothing or car, and in exceptional cases, in ecstatic frenzy tearing him to shreds.

Another classic (Plutonic) variant of the Leo situation is the battlefield from the general’s perspective, who commands the battle: arranging regiments, inspiring soldiers, determining the sequence of troop deployments, attempting to anticipate the enemy’s moves, and so on. Here, people are treated as pawns, and a grim logic of energetic flow prevails, characterized by the well-known aphorism, “War is war.”

A mixed solar-Plutonic variant of the lower octave of the Leo situation is dictatorship, relying on the force of arms, which has yet to reveal itself on a global scale; this would be a spiritual rebirth of humanity with elements of the imagery of the Last Judgment.

The Sun in a sign always intensifies the program of that sign, as it is the ruler—and thus doubly so. The solar Leo engages with rigid energetic flows that hold great power over the external world (and over Leo himself) and demand very precise actions; the cost of error is high and visibly material. The Sun emphasizes Leo’s leadership qualities and the sense of divine origin in his personal will. To some extent, this is true; however, with such a sense, it is very difficult to acknowledge the influence of one’s own lower subconscious programs on this divine will. It is even harder for Leo, unless endowed (excluding the higher type) with special empathy, psychological abilities, or a tendency toward self-analysis and introspection, to sort through his subconscious and distinguish higher programs from lower ones—it seems to him that this is irrelevant and that he must attend to his work (in his understanding), that is, the external world. Yet the subconscious takes its toll, and if the solar Leo does not conduct regular purification campaigns within his soul, he gradually degenerates, and without noticing it himself, his leading egregore shifts to a more crystallized and primitive one. Leo becomes a crude despot, losing touch with reality and the original idea.

If the Sun in a person’s horoscope is in Leo, that person is the embodiment of self-awareness. Leos are always on the throne, even if they work as cobblers. They always feel like the center of attention, even when they are not. Even the shyest of them believe they make a tremendous impression. They are proud, strong, and calm, even when feeling insecure. They demand attention and insist that everyone listen to them. They love honor, which is sometimes purchased with lavish treats. They are always generous but never forget themselves. Their affairs seem to run themselves, so hypnotic is their self-confidence. There must always be someone who adores them; otherwise, they feel worthless, and cruelty may develop (though it is rarely shown).

Leos possess extraordinary ingenuity, strength, decisiveness, regal bearing, organizational talent, a love of freedom, and a desire for independence. You cannot tie a Leo down—better not even to try—because there will be much fuss, and they will only submit of their own free will. Their love of freedom knows no bounds. They are haughty, but for them, it is natural. Everyday worries are beneath them, yet they gladly take responsibility, assume command, and issue orders. Generous, they can protect. They overestimate themselves, exuding extraordinary authority; their words and gestures are grand, and it is difficult to argue with them—they are always right. Pride prevents them from immediately changing a mistaken opinion, though they may later do so as if of their own accord.

Bold and lovers of pleasure, they dislike work, but their laziness is magnificent. Their pride is strongly expressed; they forgive insults but never forget them. They cannot tolerate criticism but have a good sense of humor. In life, they are certain to hold a high position at least once. They prefer professions where they can lead (they have organizational talent and know how to make others work). Tedious labor is not for them—if forced into it, they will inevitably require an assistant. In negotiations, they are magnanimous and generous, yielding on minor points. With subordinates, they are generous and advance easily, never groveling before superiors but maintaining their dignity and even implying they are superior. Ambitious, though their ambition is tied not to the work itself but to the position. They love the public, love to shine, and do it better than anyone else. They cannot be deprived of their place in the sun; caged, they will not sit still and will immediately attack whoever confined them. They should not be given great authority, for they will inevitably use it to the fullest, loving to make decisions and never regretting their actions. Their weakness lies in deadlines and punctuality; they consider it beneath their dignity to work like a clockwork mechanism, a mere technical tool.

They have many enemies. They love to keep others waiting. In love, they ignite quickly, moving swiftly from words to deeds, wooing passionately, but they dislike those who do not immediately submit, for rejection wounds their pride. When passion is strong, they preserve their self-respect. They are highly sensitive in love, food, and drink, loving beauty and splendor. Their partner must be physically attractive. In marriage, they demand unquestioning obedience and are not particularly faithful—family is family, and the hunt is the hunt. But heaven help anyone if another predator invades their family! They do not spoil their children.

Dangers: overestimating themselves, wounded dignity, an inability to recognize enemies in time, vanity, surrounding themselves with sycophants who parasitize off them, a thirst for pleasure, lust for power, intolerance, arrogance, and self-admiration. They are overly trusting. They have a strong build and are resistant to illness, though heart disease and blood disorders are characteristic, often arising from excesses and affecting the throat and excretory system.

A proud and distinctly individualistic person, you strive to be an outstanding figure, to reveal yourself at the limits of possibility, to earn recognition and high praise for what you do. The mere thought of being in the last row, taking orders, or being an ordinary employee is unbearable to you. You need to leave your personal imprint on everything you do, to blaze your own trail, to shine, to express yourself creatively, and to be at the helm. Your dreams are grand, and you are not lacking in determination, firmness of character, energy, or enthusiasm to realize great plans. You also have a noble, romantic heart and a love for the dramatic, the vivid, and the extravagant. You fully agree that the world is a stage, and secretly (or perhaps not so secretly), you have always wanted to be a brilliant actor, the leading figure in the play. You crave the adoration of the public, the applause—even if the audience consists of only one person who believes in you and your dreams. Though you outwardly radiate confidence, in reality, you are largely dependent on the support, love, and recognition of others. It is unbearable for you to be overlooked or unappreciated.

In love, you are generous-hearted and unafraid to show your beloved how dear they are to you. You value the magic of being in love and know how to keep that passion alive in a relationship. A devoted person, you will protect and stand up for those you love—unless they wound your pride or betray your trust. In your dealings with others, you enjoy the role of the strong, and it is very difficult for you to yield leadership. Ideally, you need to find someone with a will as strong as yours, but who does not seek to dominate you or compete with you.

The strong side of your personality lies in your heightened interest in and love for life—your creative energy and warm, generous heart. Your main flaw is that you are egocentric. Preoccupied with the impression you make and your own creative self-expression, you forget about the existence of a larger world that does not revolve around your person.
