# Sun in Leo
Het Monster: Sun in Leo Look at me — how I shine! I embody the light and power of the Sun. In my endeavors, I will not shame my crown: a Leo is born a king — by the highest law! Do you see this happy little lion with outstretched arms and heart? That’s your child! But pay attention to the crowned head: the lion-child is the ruler of all it surveys, or at least it needs to feel something akin to that. Pride, self-confidence, optimism, dignity, and nobility seem innate. Leo thrives when in the spotlight. Yet its “subjects” are rewarded with an abundance of tender affection and generosity. The little Lion simply loves to do kind things for others and give small gifts. Leo has a strong personality with a tendency toward theatricality. If unable to be “center stage,” this natural actor may stage a performance in a rather irritating manner. Be mindful of this when you notice the child insistently demanding your attention at an inappropriate time or place. Provide times and opportunities when you (and others) can be an attentive and appreciative audience, and your lessons on when a tactful and well-mannered child should stay “behind the scenes” will be received more effectively. Do not be dishonest with this child. Honesty and integrity are very important to Leo, as is fairness. This little regal character will set high standards for their own behavior and achievements, and you can usually count on them to do the “right thing” and tell you the truth. Recognition and praise are important to this natural leader. Leo seeks to earn the respect of others — and will likely deserve it, as self-respect is equally important, and they will want to feel that recognition is earned. This child has strong willpower and the ability to persistently pursue a chosen goal, working diligently until it is achieved. However, persistence in work that remains “behind the scenes” will be less appealing than work that allows them to showcase their achievements. Provide your little Leo with early opportunities to interact with other children and adults. Seek opportunities to develop their skills in areas where they can be in the spotlight and shine. Encourage creativity and their innate flair for drama — you’ll find that dressing up in costumes and playing different roles will become a favorite pastime. If your wardrobe lacks interesting outfits, try finding a few quirky clothing items or accessories among old things. Try to arrange for one or two friends to visit often; Leo loves to play the host. Explore opportunities for dance lessons or children’s theater. Always remember that praise and encouragement will be far more effective in guiding this child than criticism. When criticism is necessary, try to deliver it in a way that also conveys encouragement, faith in your child’s good intentions, and their ability to overcome (or exceed) the required level. The fire of Leo is not mere show. This little “royal personality” has tremendous perseverance in achieving the goals their mind has set. Your Leo wants to be a leader or someone recognized for an important role, and they will work hard to achieve it. This child wants to earn recognition honestly, as it is important for them to feel they are worthy of “royalty” and respect.

Leo is a fixed, positive sign, symbolized by the lion. From this, we can conclude that a person born with the Sun in Leo is active, experienced in many matters, and destined for success and a prominent position. Sometimes such people have an excessively high opinion of themselves. They are strong but not tactless. Sometimes their will forces their mind to doggedly pursue a desire or decision to do something. They have a sincere heart and love to engage in humanitarian and philanthropic activities. They have organizational abilities; their ability to inspire others makes them good leaders. They generally have better health than most people. They enjoy visiting mountains and forests, spending time alone. They are usually sincerely spiritual and love solemn rituals. They can become coarse if their desire for power becomes hypertrophied. They have an independent character with a stubborn streak and often possess a charismatic nature. They are frank and sincere, generous, have good intuition and inventiveness, and carry themselves with dignity. The Sun represents a person’s outward appearance and external behavioral traits. When the Sun is in Leo, it occupies its own sign and is therefore in full strength. Thus, such people can be attractive in appearance, possess appealing manners, an abundance of vitality, and a dreamy mind. Having the Sun in Leo is a success, as it indicates help from the father, government, and God, provided other indicators in the chart align with this. However, it can happen that a person with the Sun in Leo becomes excessively selfish, overly demanding, and difficult to live with. If treated with respect, they will respond with generosity.

On July 23, the Sun enters the zodiac sign Leo. Here we move to the second zone of the horoscope — to the Zone of “Stability,” of formation, where the qualities of all four signs in this zone — Leo, Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio — manifest in a balanced way. Here we enter the element of Fire, in its most powerful and vivid expression. The main ruler of Leo is the Sun, the main luminary of the astrological system. The element of Fire in Leo is stable, and people born under the sign of Leo are endowed with the ability to rule and govern, displaying the best and highest qualities.
Leo was Alexander the Great, a great conqueror and ruler of the world, Julius Caesar, Hannibal, Napoleon. Usually, Leos do not take active steps to achieve power functions, because, as a rule, these functions are initially granted to them. Leos are the main rulers of the world. Therefore, highly developed Leos never push their way forward, never elbow others aside; they always feel at the center of events, always subconsciously have a tendency to stand out, to show their “I” and, in the best case, to manifest creatively. They radiate solar brilliance around them, and usually act through intermediaries, assistants, and people drawn to their solar nature. Leos are no longer warriors, like Aries; they are rulers, kings, sovereigns. That is why many Leos are found among serious and well-known rulers. Most Leos are very talented and capable of creativity, for this is a very creative sign. If Leos reach a high position, in the best case they can be magnanimous and sincere, and with their best qualities they generously endow everyone they encounter. In the best version, greed is not inherent in Leos; even if they steal, they share with others.
Among artist Leos is Titian, actors include Marlon Brando, and in our cinema — Oleg Tabakov, a man of the pose whose laughter infects others, and on the other hand, can instantly bring tears to others’ eyes. Magnate J. Ford is also a Leo. Among the “wealthy elite” we find Talleyrand, who secretly ruled in place of Napoleon. In highly developed Leos, we find such a quality as nobility; they never finish off a fallen enemy. In general, Leos always strive for achievement, but they do not openly show this desire; they seem to be ashamed of the power initially granted to them. Although in the depths of their soul they can be very vain and proud, this vanity and pride only emerges in lower Leos. In the worst case, these qualities reach the level of megalomania. Thus, at the highest level, Leo is a noble personality, and at the lower level — a proud, self-centered, envious man. Figuratively speaking, in the higher Leo we see the best traits of the lion, the king of beasts, and in the lower Leo — the worst feline qualities. The lower Leo is a “yard cat.”
Leos suffer greatly when they are not noticed, because the manifestation of attention toward them is the main background of their sustenance; they thrive on the admiration that comes from their environment. But if they are ignored, in lower Leos this often breeds a sense of vengeance. By the way, lower Leos are susceptible to flattery; they are easily seduced and deceived. Leos always strive for great achievements; they are very broad, generous souls. If life does not allow them to manifest their creative abilities and broad soul, they develop an inferiority complex. Typical Leos have excellent, strong health; they are large people with prominent, bright facial features and a physique that conveys a sense of significance. Leos have a very powerful energetic framework and strong energy, which is why many practicing psychics are also Leos. The creativity of Leos always stands out for its brightness, splendor, and some exuberance of creative expression.
If we speak of the country of Leo, it is Spain. Leo’s problems involve suppressing the lower qualities of the Sun, such as vanity and controlling inner energy. The fact is that Leos have very powerful energy and literally exert a magical influence. The formation of the sign of Leo is influenced by the planet Pluto, and you can imagine how Plutonian traits can manifest in a person born under the sign of Leo. Therefore, Leo must work very delicately with energy, carefully channeling their ideas through their environment. Another important issue is the illusory nature of perception. It has already been said that Leos are easily swayed by flattery. Somewhere deep in the subconscious (in Leo, Neptune is in its sign of fall), Leos sometimes have a fog, what the Indians call “maya,” so freeing themselves from this subconscious haze and forming a clear structure within their inner world is also a very important and significant task for Leo.

23.7 – 23.8. LEO Leo, as befits a king, is noble, proud, and generous. His nature is passionate, emotional, and energetic, provided, of course, that the Sun or Saturn in the horoscope are not afflicted. Royalty is given to him by nature. He spends money, among other things: to him, money is merely a wretched means of access to the beautiful (for example, buying paintings or books). His success is the key to the happiness of those around him, with whom he generously shares. He helps people who do something for him to reveal the best sides of themselves. A life of an average person is impossible for him. He usually strives for significant influence, unless Saturn in his horoscope negatively affects him. If circumstances are favorable, he may develop complexes, as well as physical ailments. Leo is never petty or vindictive. He loves to be the center of attention, somewhat theatrical. Friends cannot go long without seeing him. His joie de vivre is contagious. However, Leo usually loves only himself. It is unthinkable for him to devote himself to a partner, as this seems to him like “stepping down from the pedestal.” Therefore, strangely enough, he feels intrigued and captivated by those who do not show signs of adoration and respect from the first moment. For his inner balance, Leo needs to be beautiful, amazing, and extraordinary. He is a natural leader who feels the need for physical and mental activity. However, he should not “overdo it”: when Leo in his youth engages too diligently in sports or studies, after the age of forty he may face illnesses and problems, although before that he had enviable health. His sympathetic system is very sensitive: an emotional shock can make him sick, and also heal him. For heart problems (physical or emotional), homeopathic remedies such as arnica and crataegus are indicated. Magnesium, homeopathic or natural, is also beneficial. Sulfur is recommended for bones and the spine. Citrus fruits are good. Hot baths with thyme and rosemary (1 cup per bath) are beneficial. Sunlight is good for him, but without overheating. Mountain skiing and water sports are recommended.

LEO. Natural Leo.
————————————————————–
Characteristic of the entire zone of formation — (guna tamas) — is the sign’s awareness of its element, a certain pride and responsibility for it. Here, the elements find their most consistent expression.
The Leo Person. Unlike Aries, Leo (fixed cross) has a stable energy flow and is aware of its (his) strength, energy, and power over people and circumstances. If Aries is a spontaneous enthusiast, then Leo of the lower octave is a king, a dictator, while of the higher octave — a conscious and responsible executor of the flow’s will. It is clear that both the lower Aries and the lower Leo are puppets of their flows, but the flows treat them differently. If the disobedient (and often obedient) stubborn Aries is often deprived of strength by the egregore (i.e., the flow is turned off), in Leo’s case, this is a last resort. A disobedient Leo is punished by a change in character, life circumstances, and obstacles that become increasingly difficult, yet the flow still does not turn off for a long time. The lower octave Leo is aware of his strength and uses it for selfish purposes. The lower the evolutionary level of Leo, the more inflated his ego becomes, sometimes to the point that one might want to display him in a zoo. At the same time, the general nobility of the fire element is reflected in the lower octave of Leo. He will not torture his victim with sadistic pleasure (he will kill it with one powerful blow); often (especially if he is flattered), certain parodies of higher manifestations arise in him, a kind of (at his level) magnanimity, and so on.
A major problem for Leo is connected to his energy flow. Although it is stable, it lacks the overwhelming force that manifests during Aries’ periods of ascent, so Leo needs external validation of himself as a conduit of the flow. Aries is superior in this regard: it is important for him that the flow reaches its destination, while his own role is less significant; Aries thus carries an idea, while Leo is the idea itself. This circumstance makes Leo extraordinarily vulnerable; he begins to depend on others’ assessments of his personality; yet it also gives him some ability for conscious flow management, making him more flexible than Aries (who in the lower octave is completely subject to the flow) and more attentive to his surroundings.
On the other hand, Leo (fixed cross) is much more stubborn than Aries over a long period. Once he has (to the extent of his understanding) become aware of his energy flow, his energy idea, i.e., the direction of activity, he clings to it with a vengeance; Aries regularly loses the flow and, in depression (a cardinal sign), easily switches from one flow to another, changes his line of work, and most importantly, his energy idea.
Leo is a natural leader. With the help of his stable energy flow, he reliably keeps his group of followers, students, or slaves in submission, and, receiving from them a certain dose of admiration, reverence, triumph, and obedience, becomes happy and behaves quite nobly, even chivalrously at times. If, however, the situation complicates and slips out of Leo’s control, he tries to increase pressure (first issuing a formidable roar), and here the humanity that is already present in limited quantities (as long as we are talking about the lower and middle octaves of Leo) disappears entirely, and an ordinary arrogant demeanor takes its place and becomes a quality. For while the deprivation of the energy flow, depression, may be a natural (though unpleasant) state for Aries, for Leo, who is designed to live in an energy flow, its deprivation is tantamount to a catastrophe — a death in life (which is why Leo can be so ruthless in the struggle for the energy channel).
Reconnection to the energy flow is, in principle, possible for Leo, but not immediately, with difficulty, and, most importantly, it will no longer be the same as before; a broken Leo carries a great scar on his psyche for life.
Leo’s egoism differs greatly from Aries’ egoism. If Aries (while in the flow) does not see anything at all, Leo sees nothing except the flow, and there lies a great difference. Aries is an instinctive, elemental egoist — one must accept him with all that comes through him or reject him. Leo, however, consciously believes that the entire world must submit to his energy idea, and whoever does not want to is a fool or an enemy, and the worse for them — and this is not an instinctive feeling but a life position that Leo finds very difficult (not to say impossible) to soften or revise.
Leo hears criticism but does not react to it in any way, unlike Aries, who does not hear it at all.
The Sun’s management gives Leo the feeling that his personal will is directly the will of God; hence his fantastic self-confidence in defiance of any facts and circumstances: for Leo, admitting a mistake means doubting His infallibility or even His existence.
In reality, however, the Sun embodies not the Absolute but the egregore guiding a person at a given moment, and the Sun’s rulership in Leo means that Leo transmits a certain imperative program of action for the person, subjectively experienced as an impulse of personal will. Thus, Leo must discern where his higher karmic egregore acts, where the current egregore, and where the will of his own lower “I” — a task that is obviously not simple, especially if there are few planets in water signs and Leo rules the day house.
The Uranus affliction limits Leo’s originality, translating it into hidden forms. Leo is, after all, a practitioner and a leader, so he must adapt to reality and, among other things, to the level of his followers. At the same time, the law of all flows from the subtle world is creativity, and specifically originality and novelty, which Leo instinctively seeks and often fails to achieve. Afflictions of higher planets are very difficult to work through. Saturn’s affliction gives Leo a certain inner harshness, and in case of defeat, Saturn (internally) fixes Leo in his energy flow and idea, on the one hand granting him stability, and on the other depriving him of plasticity. As a result, when Leo encounters reality, he receives significant injuries from other zodiac signs (which he, in his lower octave, despises): Scorpio stings him painfully, Taurus tramples him, Aquarius suddenly knocks him down, and so on. These injuries are Saturn’s lesson, which returns Leo to reflection on himself, his idea, and the surrounding world. With good processing (which in this case rarely happens before the age of 40, i.e., the opposition of the transit Uranus to the natal Uranus), Leo realizes his will as a refraction of the will of the guiding egregore and finds his place in the world, yet Leo, with his harshness, arrogance, and conscious self-perception as a cosmic will, remains. Instead, if he succeeds, he becomes a true spiritual general, a practical spiritual leader.
If, however, Saturn’s lessons are ignored, Leo either loses the flow and (forever, i.e., until the next incarnation) falls into the realm of the lower octave of Saturn (lack of energy, depression, and utter despair), or crystallizes, falling into the dead flow of a rigid egregore above people and circumstances, completely devoid of free will and creativity.
The Pluto culmination in Leo symbolizes the principle of Leo’s highest practical power in the dynamics of world development. For the average Leo, this Pluto position gives a thirst for concrete practical power over the world, aimed at its reconstruction from the bottom up (to the extent accessible to the understanding of this Leo) in accordance with the idea he transmits. Thus, the higher Leo is a practical ruler of the world who carries out both governance and all, even the deepest, forms of its reconstruction and transformation in accordance with the tasks of evolutionary development.
In its unworked form, Pluto’s culmination gives Leo a false sense of penetrating another’s soul and a complex of practical power (i.e., power over the external world). If practical power is absent, Leo craves it greatly, and if it is present, its scale in Leo’s consciousness is greatly exaggerated. He finds it hard to believe that administrative power and executive power are not the same thing.
Mercury’s fall symbolizes not Leo’s stupidity but his contempt for barren minds produced outside the energy flow. The energy flow has its own logic, which it imposes on Leo and which Leo instinctively (and correctly) feels; it cannot be replaced by ordinary human Mercurial logic. Nevertheless, it is necessary for all signs, including Leo, to track their actions with the mind, and Leo, in poor processing and in youth, tends to rely not on reason or even intuition, but rather on his impulse or energy flow, which, detached from reality, can carry him very far. Additionally, Mercury’s fall gives Leo difficulties in purely mental and informational contact with the world: he does not perceive information without an energy component, and in contacts, he often presses too hard; at the negotiating table, he feels out of place.
With careful processing of the Mercurial problem (which is very difficult), Leo gains the ability for subtle mental management of his flow and masters the synthesis of mental and energy planes; if ignored, he has poor perception of non-energy (often mental) information and contacts, as well as unreasonable behavior.
Leo’s situation is perceived by participants as imperative, exerting strong energetic pressure and requiring energetic practical actions. In a harmonious variant, this can be (solar variant) the enthusiastic adoration of the public for their favorite on stage. Here, the energy flow focuses on the artist and disperses from him to his enthusiastic admirers, and from them returns to him in a feedback loop; the audience, overwhelmed by the flow subjectively experienced as a feeling of love and admiration, practically expresses themselves in applause, ovations, a desire to possess a piece of the idol’s clothing or car, and in exceptional cases, in ecstasy tearing him to shreds.
Another classic (Plutonic) variant of the Leo situation is the battlefield from the perspective of a general commanding the battle: he arranges regiments, inspires soldiers, determines the sequence of bringing units into combat, trying to anticipate the enemy’s actions, and so on. Here, people are perceived as pawns, and the logic and ethics of a grim energy flow prevail, characterized by the well-known aphorism “war is war.”
A mixed solar-Plutonic variant of the lower octave Leo situation is dictatorship supported by brute force, which has not yet manifested on a global scale; it will be a spiritual rebirth of humanity with elements of the picture of the Last Judgment.
————————————————————–
The Sun in a sign always makes the program of that sign intense, as it acts as a double ruler. The solar Leo deals with rigid energy flows that have great power over the external world (and over Leo himself) and require very precise actions; the cost of a mistake is high and visibly material.
The Sun emphasizes Leo’s leadership qualities and the sense of divine origin of his personal will. To some extent, this is true; however, having such a sense, it is very difficult to admit the influence of one’s own lower subconscious programs on this divine will; it is even harder for Leo, who (excluding the higher type) is not endowed with special empathy or psychological abilities, nor a tendency toward self-analysis and introspection, to discern his subconscious and separate higher programs from lower ones — it seems to him that this is all insignificant and he should focus on his work (in his understanding), i.e., the external world. Yet the subconscious takes its toll, and if the solar Leo does not conduct regular sanitation campaigns in his soul, he gradually degenerates, and without noticing it himself, a shift occurs in his leading egregore to a more crystallized and primitive one. Leo becomes a crude despot and loses touch with reality and his original idea.
