What am I doing? Converting those possessed by the devil into ordinary egoists. The choice of a new reality associated with the Sagittarian Sun is linked to an emotional surge that transitions into a certain mental state, which then takes the form of mental meditations that do not necessarily relate directly to the choice. At the same time, it should be noted that a life choice can be made on any body and zodiacal channel, and the Sagittarian and mental responses accompanying it will differ depending on this. However, a person does not immediately recognize such a difference: initially, it seems to them that they are simply a person of strong emotions, meaning they are unable to remain indifferent—feelings take hold, transform into thoughts, words, narratives, and so on. Depending on the nature and subjective correctness of the choice (i.e., whether a person follows their dharma or deviates from it), the mental foundation is formed, becoming strong or weak, wholesome or poisoned, etc., which determines the quality of the mind—whether it becomes constructive or nihilistic.
The Sagittarian Sun struggles to understand itself because its choice is essentially made emotionally, or at least accompanied by emotional meditation. After the choice, intense mental meditation kicks in, which, strictly speaking, has nothing to do with the act of choosing. Yet, the person often believes otherwise, falling into the temptation of justifying their choice retroactively through blatant mental manipulations. Meanwhile, the true purpose of their reflections is usually different—for example, considering what to do next. The hidden fear of the Sagittarian Sun is the uncertainty in the foundations of its mental activity and output. It worries about the strength of its words and thoughts, fearing they may prove insufficient or harmful, ultimately destroying itself and others.
Capricorn Sun
If I truly believe, I will not say to a rock: “Cast yourself into the sea!”—instead, I will engage in more constructive activity. The Capricorn Sun makes life choices as a rationally thinking leader, applying decisions with mental meditation in mind. Therefore, in situations where it must decide “to be or not to be,” Capricorn often gives the impression of cold rationality, which, upon closer inspection, often turns out to be an illusion. First and foremost, the conscious part of mental meditations is minimal, and their fruits, transformed by Capricorn, often go unnoticed or are only vaguely perceived by the person. Thus, the causal foundation formed by what seems like a conscious choice often comes as a complete surprise, and on it, quite different plans may grow than what was carefully envisioned.
The temptation of the Capricorn Sun is to believe that all its life choices are causally oriented mental decisions—when in reality, it, like anyone else, periodically decides whether to affirm or reject a particular buddhic value, mental construct, emotional meditation, or even a movement or gesture (whether to jump over a ditch or not). In all these situations, it receives a significant response in the Capricorn channel, meaning one must learn to distinguish between model and reality by certain characteristic signs. On one hand, it is necessary to treat atmanic and buddhic choices with due reverence, without profaning them. On the other hand, one should not attach too much significance to many astral, etheric, and physical matters—a tendency to which solar Capricorns are particularly prone.
The hidden fear of the Capricorn Sun is the possibility of making an unfounded, insufficiently thought-out, and unprepared decision. More precisely, it is the lack of faith in the practical value of its mental efforts: it fears that no matter how much it plans, everything will still go wrong or fail entirely, ruining itself and others.
Aquarius Sun
If I don’t understand something, it’s not just my personal problem. The life choice of the Aquarian Sun always, whether it wants to or not, carries a partially philosophical nuance, such as: Who is responsible for this problem? Who should resolve it? What values am I strengthening or weakening with my choice? If questions of this kind are relevant, Aquarius may rise to the occasion; if they seem meaningless (or the answers displease it), it often suppresses the very formulation of the question into the subconscious, where the necessary buddhic accentuation occurs. The person then feels that something important is happening in their soul, though they cannot understand what exactly.
In a sense, the Aquarian Sun has it harder than other solar signs: every choice of the “to be or not to be” type acquires a moral hue, and if made incorrectly, it darkens the soul—more precisely, it pollutes and poisons the buddhic foundation, on which lawsuits later grow. Generally, the theme of Aquarius is the support or, conversely, the undermining of existential values, and the Sun poses this question bluntly. A person must—karmically—decide for themselves what the logic of events means to them: which values they uphold and which they do not. This is not a matter of interpretation (the theme of Gemini): the Aquarius channel captures self-evident fruits of causal meditations that do not require this—for example, facts that speak for themselves. The question is about which positions and programs a person ultimately strengthens and which they consider themselves to be many.
The temptation of Aquarius is buddhic manipulation—attributing event-based morality to values it does not actually indicate, such as the stance: “I believe because it’s absurd, regardless of anything,” and so on. However, if “absurd” is understood as a contradiction to poor Gemini interpretations, such a position gains meaning. But if it signifies a contradiction to the general moral appearance of a person whose atmanic body is forming, then it is an incorrect choice of faith (as well as other values).
The hidden fear of the Aquarian Sun is the complete exhaustion or poisoning of the buddhic foundation, despite any causal efforts, along with subconscious beliefs such as: “I will never bring any serious matter to completion,” “I am incapable of significant positive internal or external changes,” “The consequences of my real efforts are meaningless for me and the world,” “Any endeavor, especially selfless ones, ends with someone spitting in your soul,” and so on.
Pisces Sun
I feel that spirituality is ripening within me, and I eagerly await the moment when it can be reaped. The Pisces Sun is often accused of evasiveness and an inability to make decisive choices, but this quality becomes understandable and justified when one considers the immense, yet invisibly powerful, responsibility it assumes each time it decides whether to affirm or reject a particular object. For it, this is a matter of supporting a life mission—that is, destiny as a whole. In this sense, every “to be or not to be” choice for the Pisces Sun is spiritual, whether it realizes this or stubbornly suppresses it from consciousness.
In every life choice of the Pisces Sun—even a purely mental or etheric one—the buddhic body is activated, creating a mini-metasense that is transmitted into the atmanic body, strengthening a person in their ideal, weakening it, or slightly redirecting the main direction of their life path—more precisely, preparing for it. All of this makes a person a mystic, at least in moments of choice and the periods preceding them. They feel that when discussing where to spend their vacation or even simply choosing how to cook chicken, they are actually deciding something very important—for themselves and for the world as a whole—refining the global destiny of both. Of course, in modern civilization, such feelings cannot enter consciousness (except under observation) without being transformed beyond recognition, turning into vague religiosity, a tendency toward occult knowledge, and so on.However, one must not forget that the Sun sign is a channel in which a person is not inclined to compromise and must resolve issues of choice in an alternative “either-or” style, where no third option is given, and it is at least as difficult to understand the true meaning of the choice of a Piscean Sun as it is necessary. The secret fear of solar Pisces lies in the perishability of their value and emotional experience, its insignificance in comprehending and achieving the ultimate goal and meaning of human existence; such, for example, is the leitmotif of the book of King Ecclesiastes: “And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of music shall be brought low; Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets: (Ecclesiastes 12:4-7)”
Chapter 2. Moon. Svadhishthana — the phase of evolution of the energy principle.
It governs Cancer. Keywords: support; care; protection.
“And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.” (Genesis 1:22-23).
When a life choice, that is, the question “to be or not to be,” is resolved and a new reality or object is created, the question arises about their further fate: to what extent will they prove to be viable and capable of development? The same question, but in a slightly different formulation, arises regarding already existing realities and objects: are they capable of continuing their existence and natural development on their own, and if not, what energies do they need for this?
In the proposed concept, these are the lunar energies corresponding to the Svadhishthana phase of the energy principle. A vivid example of a lunar situation is pregnancy, and no one would think to say that protecting and maintaining the life of a tiny embryo (and later a large fetus) is a simple matter; at least, modern biological science does not seriously consider artificial cultivation of a fertilized egg. However, even after childbirth, the need for lunar energy does not disappear, though it is significantly modified.
The Moon symbolizes the energy without which a child’s development is hindered; it loses its blooming appearance, withers and weakens. Thus, the cultivated Moon provides adequate care and proper living conditions for the child. Not only an infant or a child but every person, as well as a collective, a business, an event, or even an idea, requires lunar energy for normal existence and realization at all life stages, including the final ones.
What is this connected with? Without delving into the causes of the current world order, the author must note, however, that it follows rather strict laws, the general essence of which is that only systems and objects capable of withstanding competition from their peers and the aggression of the environment—often quite harsh—survive. At the same time, the more subtly organized an object is, the higher its demands on the environment and the stronger the interest in it from various predatory-vampiric entities inhabiting all planes of the subtle world.
This circumstance, in particular, explains the mystery surrounding many of their activities by priests, magicians, occultists, political figures, and any serious business leaders: any action must mature, that is, be prepared for direct environmental influence (biological or social), and before that, its embryo must be disturbed and thus vulnerable. Of course, neither secrecy nor any other means (patented or not) provide absolute protection: the white color of an egg will attract a snake, and barbed wire will attract a professional spy, and even the police sometimes prove ineffective: “Never sowing flax and rye, And on this, squinting imperceptibly, cut off—can be fixed.” (I. Guberman)
But if not a guarantee, then some level of protection is necessary for any entity or object, and therefore lunar support is always required—excluding only situations of pure survival that rely entirely on solar energy; though the latter is more of an abstraction than a reality.
Therefore, if a person, state, family, or idea seems so powerful that they allegedly do not need any protection, this impression is always illusory; the question is rather what kind of protection and what external conditions are needed at the moment.
If we rise to a philosophical level, the theme of protection is a variation of the theme of the relationship between an object and its environment or the microcosm with the macrocosm, and here a logically insoluble contradiction becomes apparent: the condition for an object’s existence is its separation from the world (otherwise there is nothing to discuss); on the other hand, according to the principle of the world’s interconnectedness, the object cannot be isolated from it, and moreover, according to the holographic paradigm, every part of the world (and therefore any change in it) is reflected in the object.
Thus, the problem of protecting and supporting the independent existence of an object—at least in its natural-naïve formulation—turns out to be fundamentally unsolvable: the thicker the shell of an egg, the more it is exposed to destructive environmental influences—or the embryo suffocates due to insufficient nourishment and respiration.
“What, what holds the world in check,
What allows the chick to sleep in the nest?”
— to this question by the poet Alexander Kushner, it is difficult to give an answer remaining within the horizontal plane of consideration, for example, studying the physical plane in isolation from the etheric or causal plane without taking into account the buddhic.
For example, the field lark builds its nest directly on the ground, in a depression under the cover of overhanging grass, using dry stalks—and takes no visible security measures. Yet it chooses a nest site based on bioenergetic features of the territory, seeking etheric depressions, cracks, and other places inconvenient, unpleasant, or invisible to its enemies.
If we consider the theme of protection from the perspective of life in this plane, we can distinguish three main directions: protection (support) from higher and lower planes, and within this plane itself. In short, there is protection (or support) coming from above, from below, and horizontal, and they differ qualitatively both in their external manifestations and functions.
In this book, the author focuses primarily on vertical (ascending and descending) flows, so the topic of horizontal protection is almost not addressed, which, of course, does not diminish its relevance. However, life in this plane largely follows the path of synthesizing descending and ascending transmissions; this is similar to the well-known husband’s remark about his vacation problems: “This issue doesn’t concern me: the boss decides when I go, and my wife decides where.”
Support from above, that is, what comes from the higher plane, aligns the karma of the object with the karma of the environment, making the latter less aggressive toward the former and providing a fundamental opportunity for cooperation between them. Excessive support leads to the object’s parasitism in the environment—something akin to a spoiled child in a family who does not know what whim or extortion to spend their energy and time on.
Conversely, insufficient support from above means that the object, not yet having gained enough strength, becomes a victim of too great discrepancies between its karma and that of the environment: not that the environment is deliberately at war with it (that is more of a solar theme), but simply it does not fit in—and thus is deprived even of, so to speak, the middle ground. This is the fate of many innovators whose inventions were far ahead of their time—they were at best ignored or ostracized, and at worst—if they persisted in their views, failing to transition from the Moon to the Sun—burned, shot, imprisoned, or sent to camps. In psychological terms, the phrase “Do you understand me?” most often implies something like: “I am having difficulty with the causal flow and I am seeking your Buddhi-al approval and support,” and deep down, the one asking expects not only Buddhi-al alignment—i.e., moral support—but also a certain Taurean transmission into their causal body, which they are illuminating. Support from below means an increase in the energetic potential of the subject.regardless of his further development plans and interaction plots with the environment. Just as a mother feeds her child as richly and deliciously as possible without worrying whether he will go stealing in the evening, on a date, or to the reading hall. For a bank, support from below is the depositors’ money; for a company, it is orders for its products; for a democratic president, it is his approval rating among voters. In a pair union, support from below plays a huge role in the relationship, creating a sense of unconditional support for the partner regardless of his specific actions, not through corresponding declarations (like “I will be with you till death,” “I will be faithful to you no matter what,” etc.), but actually in practice. It is not merely the obedient fulfillment of any requests but rather their kind of anticipation and creation of comfortable conditions for future behavior: just as a good operating nurse knows in advance when and which tools the surgeon will need and provides him not only with physical support (handing over the necessary clamp) but also with buddhic and even atmic support.
This remains relevant. Similarly, a true wife of a politician takes care of his wardrobe, and an actor’s husband takes care of her moods and, most importantly, etheric support: prepares salads, ensures good sleep, gives massages, and so on. Support and protection are most often perceived within horizontal flows, though they are no less necessary on vertical ones. Below, the author provides a kind of differential diagnosis of the nature of protective actions of ascending and descending flows. These descriptions should be taken as interpretations of the Moon in signs, as they are inherent in any organism.
The atmic body is supported by the Pisces flow, which gives new strength to seek ideals and clarify one’s mission based on meta-values formed as a result of buddhic meditations. A person can draw spiritual strength not only from their own atmic development but also from the surrounding atmic environment, for example, by trying to be inspired by someone else’s spirituality (personal or collective, say, by joining a particular religion), but both only modify the flower of the mission, while the material for growth is provided solely by the soil.
The buddhic body is supported by the flows of Aries and Aquarius, and their effects are entirely different. In general, it must be said that descending flows are most often perceived as carriers of solar energy, while ascending ones as carriers of lunar energy, but in reality, this is not the case. Specifically, the Aries flow not only formulates seeds for qualitatively new values and life programs in a solar-like manner but also protects those already existing, providing them with constant and adequate fine-energetic support (so that a person feels they are on the right path and their private programs are pleasing to God). Additionally, Aries transmissions destroy or inhibit the development of many buddhic weeds—values and programs that do not fit into the mission or distort it. However, a person, especially in a state of mental or astral blindness, often clings to a particular weed they have grown fond of, mistaking it for the main life value, and then perceives Aries influences as irrational obstacles preventing them from achieving their goal—this is the negative variant of lunar vibrations, which will be discussed later. In any case, Aries protection (and obstacles) is perceived as a miracle coming from nowhere, from an abstractly refined ideal that has little to do with immediate soul and value life.
The ideal is one for all values, and when one of them is strengthened by its direct light, a person experiences a sense of a minor miracle and their divine election or sanctity.
Conversely, Aquarian support of the buddhic body is usually perceived as a completely natural and, most importantly, expected result: specific (causal) efforts lead to a change in the buddhic soil, and corresponding values grow on it. Sometimes, indeed, they do not grow, or they grow but do not match the efforts expended, which only indicates the person’s inattention or prolonged self-deception that surfaces at any inconvenient turn, like pins from a Scarecrow’s head.
Values that grow on soil well-fertilized by long daily efforts differ sharply from those grown on predominantly Aries energy—the former may appear unremarkable externally but have a powerful root system (often with a strong knotty trunk) and are very difficult to destroy; the latter are often brighter, more lush, but grow on a thin root, are capricious, and easily carried away by the wind of buddhic changes.
The causal body is supported by the flows of Taurus and Capricorn. Again, the protective action of Taurus is usually perceived as some kind of miracle, albeit a small one, while Capricorn’s as natural and necessary.
My values largely dictate my behavior—this is the solar aspect of Taurus transmissions. But do they always and to what extent provide me with protection and support in specific life situations? The standard fairy-tale morality is that they do, but not immediately and not entirely—but who in our time believes in fairy tales? No one will argue that talent, diligence, moderation, humility, politeness, attentiveness, and conscientiousness add something to the chances of success, but if success does happen, who with experience will believe that besides these virtues, the person did not use anything else, for example, did not manipulate or simply transfer something from a hidden pocket to an open one?
If a smile or a polite phrase is met with a smile and a polite response, we perceive it as the norm, but if the reward for conscientious work matches its worth, it feels like a miracle or luck—small, perhaps, but still requiring the guiding hand of a fairy or guardian angel. And if, as a result of inner work to align values with each other and the atmic program, a person’s causal problems are suddenly resolved by themselves, it is always perceived as a miracle—or, more often, as a coincidence unrelated to buddhic purification, and only much later does the person understand the true causal connection.
However, by enriching the causal soil with the fruits of their reflections, a person sees nothing surprising in events unfolding in the general direction of their mental efforts and predictions, though they are inclined to adjust their assessments, especially with strong Gemini influence. If mental support is lacking, a person feels insecure, behaves inconsistently, and is generally prone to causal breakdowns; if buddhic support is lacking, a sense of spinning one’s wheels or events going entirely off track arises, despite all efforts and attempts at mental correction. This most often indicates a fundamental inconsistency between the mental and existential worldviews, or more precisely, a contradiction between what a person actually (even subconsciously) considers important and what they think about it.
The mental body is supported by the flows of Gemini and Sagittarius, and they are also easily distinguishable. Gemini protects against false and parasitic mental meditations very effectively: events occur that devalue certain meditations and almost imperatively include others—people tend to primarily reflect on events happening to them or directly affecting them, and when, for example, a direct threat disappears, thoughts follow thoughts. Conversely, events directly related to the theme of mental meditation strengthen, expand, and branch out its course.
However, the depth—or rather, the essentiality and, so to speak, materiality—of a person’s thoughts is provided by Sagittarian transmissions, which create the soil on which mental meditations take place. With good astral support, a thought seems extraordinarily weighty—without it, it “hangs in the air,” finding no mental response. An astrally supported thought appears as a directly experienced personal event, and this comes at a cost: for example, memoirs that are weak in mental and literary terms from people who have endured great hardships can still make a strong impression. Therefore, thoughts, mental images, concepts, reasoning, and other objects of the mental body, being supported solely by the flow of Gemini, develop rapidly, effortlessly, often originally and abundantly, yet superficially and unstably, and are easily destroyed—at least, the person remains little attached to them, as theyInstantaneous. On the contrary, Sagittarius’ support, in the absence of Gemini’s, provides potential depth and inner meaningfulness of thought—but there is a lack of concrete reasons for mental meditation, and often a situation arises where “the mountain has given birth to a mouse.” The astral body is supported by the flows of Cancer and Scorpio, and their influence is easily noticeable. Cancer provides the theme for experiences, while Scorpio supplies the strength and energy for them. Moreover, Cancer effectively disrupts the flow of extraneous and parasitic emotional meditations—those unrelated to current mental concerns—so one can be confident that a persistent and unexorcised negative emotion is fueled by a deep-seated thought, most likely repressed.
Thought plays the same role for emotion as an event does for thought: support and expansion of the theme, creating conditions for its further growth. However, the material from which emotion arises, the substance it is built upon, is supplied by Scorpio. With weak Scorpio support but strong backing, emotions may be powerless—perhaps vivid in color and elaborate in form—but they do not make a strong impression. Conversely, strong Scorpio support gives a person a pleasant sense of readiness to create, perceive, experience, and project emotions outward. But with weak protection, emotional meditations become vague: one senses that these waters are deep, and at times, ripples appear on their surface foreshadowing the emergence of sea monsters—but the latter do not rush to reveal themselves.
Cancer’s protective effects are marked by an almost miraculous suddenness: for example, a person suddenly, for no apparent reason, calms down and stops worrying about something—this is a seed from the mental plane that has struck the very center of a negative astral meditation and destroyed it. Scorpio, on the other hand, acts gradually, as if drop by drop increasing the astral building potential, i.e., the ability to generate the necessary emotion. Phrases like “reserve of kindness” or, conversely, “amount of aggression” in relation to the astral body refer to quite specific deposits in its depths, gradually created by Scorpio and largely expended at the discretion of the individual, who either radiates sincere smiles or hides away.
The etheric body is supported by the flows of Leo and Libra, with the first type of support being obvious but partially ephemeral and difficult to explain “scientifically,” while the second has a more “material” nature and is thoroughly studied by the science of health (does it have a name? Sometimes the term *valiology* is used—essentially a blend of humanities, natural science, and the so-called “factor X,” known as “individual characteristics”). It has long been observed that when girls fall in love, they become more beautiful, which indicates (among other things) a sharp rise in etheric energy—but, however, it is superficial, lasting only until the first disappointments and quarrels with the beloved.
A completely different, far more fundamental and long-lasting effect is produced by time-tested methods such as living in nature, sleeping outdoors, predominantly vegetarian food in moderate quantities and at a measured pace of consumption, gymnastics and running without fanaticism, physical exercise, water procedures, and so on. All of this builds (through Libra’s flows) the etheric foundation, but the specific sensations a person experiences depend primarily on Leo’s transmissions. If they are insufficient, even with outwardly excellent health, a person may wither and decline. On the other hand, Leo’s protection sometimes works miracles for health: for example, a person remains on their feet under constant strain and chronic sleep deprivation for many years, despite being objectively ill, drawing strength each day as if from an inexhaustible magical source—this is the experience of a strong activation of Leo’s flow. However, if this flow suddenly ceases for one reason or another, a person may age rapidly, fall seriously ill, or even die within days or weeks, and the serious restoration of half-destroyed etheric structures through Libra always proceeds slowly and gradually.
The physical body is supported by the flow of Virgo, which ensures precision and coordination of its movements both in relation to itself and in surrounding space. Numerous inconsistencies and contradictions in the strictly materialistic approach of biology stem from its stubborn refusal to acknowledge the etheric plane (“bioplasmic”) and its influence on the physical—an influence that orders, regulates, and energetically supports it. This disrupts the horizontal physical laws of energy conservation and entropy increase, resulting in “miracles” that accompany all descending zodiacal transmissions.
Any energy, including lunar energy, can be used correctly or incorrectly, and in the latter case, the organism reacts to the imbalance with pathological phenomena, particularly by switching to critical modes and the appearance of parasites. Specific lunar parasites emerge when the energy balance of an object with its environment is disrupted—whether due to an overly weak protective shell insufficient for separation or an overly strong one, where the microcosm attempts to close in on itself, ignoring or severing its ties with the environment. Another type of parasite arises within the object when its own lunar energy balance is disturbed. As in the first part, we will consider them as certain psychological types, or rather, destructive subconscious programs.
The Quick-Ripe Victim is a lunar parasite typical of insufficient separation of the object from its environment. The main idea, or rather, the life stance of the Quick-Ripe Victim, is that the greatest evil in the world is selfishness, and the highest virtue is the readiness to sacrifice oneself at any moment for the sake of peace (God): to throw oneself in front of a machine gun, to go build a new city in Antarctica, or to restore Karabakh. As a result, the person develops gaping holes in their energy framework through which their energy leaks out, while the Quick-Ripe Victim slyly consumes it, offering consolation in return: “In any case, you didn’t want anything for yourself and did all you could.” The Quick-Ripe Victim usually remains silent about the fact that the person’s energy has fed the Prince of Darkness. What are trivialities like an unfulfilled mission compared to the heroism and self-sacrifice demonstrated under inhuman conditions? There is also an internal version of the Quick-Ripe Victim, where all of a person’s mental strength is subordinated to a single, obviously unattainable yet noble goal, resulting in the complete disarray of all other spheres of their life. Examples include the temptations of premature monasticism or building a democratic society in a feudal country.
The Naive Glutton seeks to destroy and overcome the barrier separating the object (e.g., a person and their possessions) from the external world to extract maximum benefit from the environment, though the nature of this benefit is of little concern to them. Their motto: “What lies around carelessly is good—we’ll sort it out later.” As a result of the Naive Glutton’s activities, a person ends up unable to manage a pile of borrowed “values” from the external world: they quickly turn into a mountain of useless junk, which becomes a heavy burden and, over time, begins to poison the person. The true purpose of the Naive Glutton’s actions is to use the protection of its host to find tasty and useful objects in the world, consume their energy—partly at home and partly after they have been brought “together”—leaving the person with pure waste, slag that they must laboriously assimilate and expel. Meanwhile, the Naive Glutton diligently masks the poisonous and destructive protective effects of its activities, insisting that it acts solely for the person’s benefit, increasing their well-being and level of protection from life’s uncertainties.Serfdom stands on positions that are in many ways opposite to the Naive Greed: if Greed sees the external world as a source of various blessings, the Wall considers its hostile and aggressive aspect exclusively, viewing it as a source of all kinds of unknown dangers from which one must shield themselves more firmly. Naturally, the Serf Wall requires a lot of materials and energy from the taxpayers’ pockets to build and strengthen itself—but there’s nothing to be done (says the Wall), the enemy is strong and practically already just beyond the next hill. The stronger, taller, and more impenetrable the Serf Wall, the worse the exchange of the object with its environment becomes: it suffocates from its own filth and lack of nourishment, yet the Wall tries to control and severely limit all connections with the outside world. After all, even accidentally letting a piece of filth slip out into the world would be disastrous for the object! The problems created by the Wall are not only internal: in reality, it sharply increases the aggressiveness of the surrounding environment, attracting enemies of such strength that they could potentially destroy it. And this is not a manifestation of its evil will, but one of the most general laws of the world’s structure—the total interconnectedness of the world, which does not allow any part of it to be completely isolated. At the same time, the higher the evolutionary level of the object, the higher the level of its connection with the external world and their interdependence. Therefore, if the Wall is built qualitatively and proves effective, the evolutionary and energetic level of the object decreases, it begins to fall ill, and gradually becomes a victim of internal parasites. This is how selfish and overly closed and prosperous families degrade.
The author describes the next few types of lunar parasites only briefly; the reader can easily imagine their behavior and true motives, and even supplement the list. The Clean Freak (Fastidious) seeks to achieve a level of cleanliness and order fundamentally unattainable for the object. The Guardian Thief, under the guise of protection, controls the behavior and energy flows of the object, not forgetting their own needs. The Overcautious Mentor will draw attention to non-existent or insignificant dangers and needs, distracting the person’s attention and energy from truly relevant matters.
All the described lunar parasites do not appear out of nowhere; they arise when there is an imbalance in the functioning of protective and supportive programs. During different periods of the object’s evolution, it requires different methods, forms, and levels of separation from the surrounding environment, as well as support and protection from its aggressive influence. A program that is adequate at one phase of development can easily turn into a parasite in the next. When a chick pecks its way out of the egg, conservative forces scream at it: “You’ve lost your mind, this is a total catastrophe!”—and a week earlier, it would have been. On the other hand, the appearance of parasites should be seen not as evil, but as a sign of a malfunction in the phases of evolutionary development. It is better to combat them indirectly rather than directly, primarily by re-evaluating one’s views on the object: what it is now and how it differs from what it was yesterday. The dialectics of development are examined in detail in the next, fourth part of “Kabbalistic Astrology,” the book “Houses.”
Now we will examine the characteristic features and manifestations of lunar energy in a pair bond, family, state, firm, and book. The Moon begins where the solar question—”To be or not to be?”—is resolved, and the next question arises: “How will we live?” The lunar answer, as a rule, is simple: “We will live—simply—and we’ll see what happens next.” However, this “simply” turns out to be not so simple. In the horoscope of a pair bond, the Moon will show the type and peculiarities of the partners’ care for each other and for the bond itself. This is a very important point, especially considering that in their individual horoscopes, it is positioned quite differently. In general, the Moon, except at its highest levels of processing, tends to oppose the object being protected to the external world; in this case, “we” is opposed to the rest of humanity, and first and foremost to relatives and acquaintances. Not least, the Moon will show the way jealousy manifests—the reins that the pair egregore imposes on a partner who does not sufficiently care for fulfilling its programs.
The lunar energy of a pair can, depending on the phase of development and the level of the pair bond, go in different directions: supporting the programs of one partner at the expense of the other and the pair egregore, supporting the programs of the pair egregore at the expense of the external world, or vice versa. The Moon’s position in a sign will show on what material this care’s pathos will manifest. For example, the Moon in Aries will give a pair bond in which care will have a charismatic and principled character, and it will not be easy to endure, especially when it manifests as jealousy. The partners are likely to make sweeping generalizations from minor incidents—for instance, an unironed shirt might lead one partner to the immediate conclusion that the other never respected or will never respect them.
With a strong Moon but a weak Sun, the pair bond may appear very touching (unless one of the partners becomes a cruel parasite): the partners diligently care for each other, and over time, as the bond gains strength, they also care for their entire environment. However, even in this seemingly altruistic variant, the tendency to divide the world and people with an invisible wall into “ours” and “not ours” will be clearly noticeable in this pair.
On the contrary, a pair bond with a weak Moon and a strong Sun often creates an unpleasant harsh impression: the partners do not care much for each other; for them, the main thing is that they are together and doing something significant. In the low octave, this could be a marriage that lasts for years on the brink of divorce; in the high octave, it could be a relationship of joint activity with clearly delineated responsibilities. But in any case, the house where this pair lives will turn out to be cold, and even in marriage, separate living is quite possible.
In the horoscope of a family, the Moon will reveal much about the atmosphere of the home, the nature of the care among family members for each other and the surrounding world, and their demands for attention from the family. The Moon will also show how difficult it is for family members to part with it (temporarily or permanently) and what forces will hold them back. Families with a strong Moon desperately need small children—they bring great joy, and caring for them does not seem burdensome to the parents. As the children grow up, the family egregore begins to seek new objects for its care. If none are found, the unused lunar energy quickly begins to produce parasites—children’s characters deteriorate, they become lazy and fall into infantilism; adults grow weary and fall ill, or an object of care appears that does not fit into the family egregore for decades:
— “You know, forgive me, Lord, what an unpleasant fellow that uncle of yours was!”
— “What? Wasn’t he your uncle?”
The Moon in Leo gives a family of an affective-ethereal type of care: children are constantly pressured, anxiously monitored for the temperature of their feet, and a terrible fuss is made gathering them for dinner, and this is indeed where the pathos of family support lies.
On the contrary, with the Moon in Aquarius, the family’s main attention will be directed toward supporting values and virtues: they will likely spare no effort, time, or money for their children’s education, fostering independence and the ability to think independently on serious (including worldview) issues, and so on.
The Moon shows not only the proposed but also the imposed way of care by the family. If a family member’s personal Moon is in a tense aspect to the family Moon, they will not feel very comfortable at home—but it will also be difficult for the family to please them. On the other hand, acquaintances and friends are often chosen at home precisely because their Moon resonates with the family Moon, and they sometimes feel more comfortable visiting than the family members themselves do.In a family with a weak Moon, household members care less for one another, for the home, and for the family’s prosperity—but they also refrain from smothering children of all ages, as well as adults, with unnecessary supervision and misplaced assistance, which is especially unpleasant for someone with a strong Sun. For example, you might be sitting there, deeply focused on solving global or national issues, when your daughter quietly slips into your office with a tray holding tea with cream, three kinds of jam, honey, and some wafers… Meanwhile, Ukraine is, after all, in the midst of a territorial dispute with Russia over Crimea!
In a nation’s horoscope, the Moon reveals the style and nature of its care for all who need it, primarily, of course, its own people, and secondarily, its employees and institutions. On the other hand, the Moon also symbolizes the nature of the people’s demands for care from the authorities, and a skilled politician intuitively senses its position, knowing how to frame any program in the spirit of the lunar zodiac and even timing important speeches so that the transiting chart is mostly harmonious (or, where necessary, discordant).
A Moon in Pisces produces a state whose people deeply embrace national and religious ideals, feeling a (not entirely clear) sense of belonging. The chosen people easily responds to global but not overly specific projects, where the general direction of the path is far more important than any concrete and achievable goal. On the other hand, this nation, especially if the Moon is in square to Gemini, tends to be deaf to concrete ideas and displays mystical ingratitude toward any government actions that can be easily circumvented. In principle, a Moon in Pisces in a state’s horoscope suggests that the people would like to confess, repent, and receive absolution through it, while clarifying and strengthening their mission—but such matters are not discussed in sessions of the Supreme Council or strike committees, and neither state officials nor opposition leaders can be helped by the most skilled psychoanalyst.
A strong Moon in a country’s chart often indicates active public participation in political life and the state’s attention to the needs of the masses—but the nature of this fate and attention (whether the shepherd watches over the sheep or the pike observes the roach) depends not only on the Moon’s aspects but also on the evolutionary level of the country, which is not reflected in the horoscope. A harmonious Moon may belong to a hardworking people who, together with the government, care about their own economic prosperity, even in a rather selfish manner; however, with a debilitated Sun, the same harmonious Moon can instill in the collective subconscious laziness, an unwillingness to earn even slightly above the subsistence minimum, and the authorities’ desire for shameless exploitation of an obedient and accustomed population—until a certain limit is reached, beyond which rebellion or revolution follows.
In its highest octave, the Moon symbolizes the Cathedral Soul (the Sun represents the people’s Demiurge or the spirit of the nation), and through the urgent needs of the population, one can attempt to discern the aspirations of the nation’s Cathedral Soul. Behind an unmet need for irons may lie an insatiable craving for warmth of the soul—but jokes about this are not told.
